“This summer our agency experienced a theft at a local video game store where the offender distracted the clerk and walked out with a video gaming system. We obtained the serial number of the gaming system and entered it into LeadsOnline to monitor local businesses for transactions. The next morning my detective came into work and had an alert from LeadsOnline indicating that the item was sold. The offender was identified because the business took a photo of the stolen item as well as the offenders ID. Upon identifying the offender he was tied into another theft case based on information developed through LeadsOnline. The offender was subsequently charged in both circumstances and the property was recovered. Without LeadsOnline no suspect information would have been available and the cases would have remained open.”
