“Officers responded to a burglary of a residence. Upon arrival, the officers identified that the homeowner left his residence between 9:30 – 9:40 a.m. and returned around the time of the call at 6:30 p.m. When the homeowner arrived home, they noticed someone had kicked in the backdoor of the residence and had stolen a Nintendo gaming system, NABI tablet and various pieces of jewelry. Officers processed the scene and a report was taken. When I arrived on scene I asked the initial responding officers if there were any possible suspects and I was advised that the homeowners noticed a male subject near their house just prior to them leaving for work. I logged onto Leads Online to conduct a search. While reviewing the results, a name of a known offender within our community popped up and showed recent activity, as recent as 11:30 a.m. on the same day of the burglary. The items pawned were identified as those stolen from the residence. Through LeadsOnline, we were able to show that only an hour and a half to two hours passed between when we knew the residence was secure to when the suspect was pawning the stolen items!! Solid Intel and solid bust.”
