“I received an NCIC hit on a PS3 that was stolen over a year ago. This was a residential burglary. The reporting officer entered the item into NCIC with the serial number. A year after it was stolen, I received the hit from Leads regarding the reported stolen item and contacted the store to obtain the necessary information to hold the item. I contacted the victim and he refused to prosecute, stating ‘it’s been too long, I just want my property back.’ He was referred to the store. The item was removed from NCIC.
