Stolen laptop links roommate’s boyfriend to burglary of a motor vehicle

“The victim of a burglary to motor vehicle advised that she believed her roommate’s boyfriend, the suspect, had taken her laptop from her vehicle and pawned it. I conducted an online search, through LeadsOnline, using the name the victim provided. This search revealed that the person the victim named pawned a stolen laptop. The victim was unable to provide a serial number; therefore, I responded to the shop, to identify the laptop. I contacted the pawn shop manager and he provided the laptop. I then contacted the victim to identify the laptop. The victim positively identified the laptop by photos on the device and physical attributes (distinctive markings). Management agreed to have the property returned to the victim. This case was accepted by the District Attorney’s Office. The offender took a plea bargain and is serving prison time.”
