Firearm recovered 29 years after burglary

“Detective Whittington was informed through a LeadsOnline hit that a Ruger .44 Maginum pistol stolen in a home burglary in 1982 may have been located at a local pawn shop. Detective Whittington contacted the shop owner who said that the firearm was at the store and he would place a hold on it if it was identified by the owner. Contact was then made with the original owner who had the firearm stolen in the burglary. He was able to provide the serial number from paperwork he had kept. The shop provided Detective Whittington with the name of who pawned the firearm. Detective Whittington was able to contact him. He was informed of the situation and advised detectives that he purchased the firearm two years ago from another local pawn shop. Thanks to this information, the owner was able to pay and get the firearm back.”

Police arrest Tulsa burglary suspect using LeadsOnline; stolen gun found in Oregon

“I had received information that a felon was currently living in Medford, Oregon and was in possession of a stolen handgun taken out of burglary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I ran the suspect’s name through LeadsOnline and got a hit. The suspect had sold/pawned three stolen digital cameras at a pawn shop in Tulsa prior to coming out to Oregon. The cameras were taken out of the same burglary as the firearm. When I questioned the suspect about pawning any of the stolen property he initially denied it. I was able to show him the LeadsOnline hit and he eventually admitted to his involvement. The property was recovered by the victim. This stolen property would have never been located using our old “hand search” method. LeadsOnline not only allowed us to check local pawn shops, but other locations outside of our jurisdiction.”

Oklahoma detective finds gun stolen four years ago in gun store burglary; ATF recovers gun

“Detective Robert Whittington was given a LeadsOnline tip in reference to a stolen firearm that was located at a pawnshop in Lawton, Oklahoma. The stolen rifle was reported stolen out of Shawnee Oklahoma four years earlier. I made contact with the individual who sold the gun, who advised that he purchased the rifle around four years ago at a gun show and did not have his paperwork showing it. Sherman is in the military and stated he has never been to Shawnee, Oklahoma. I contacted ATF, who advised that a gun store in Shawnee had been broken into, and that the gun was one of many stolen. He advised that ATF would collect the gun from the pawnshop.”

LeadsOnline re-opens suspended case

“In 2012, our agency took a report of a burglary with several hundred dollars of firearms stolen. There was no suspect at the time, and a preliminary investigation turned up no leads. The case has been suspended. In February, we received information through LeadsOnline, showing one of the stolen rifles was sold in a neighboring county. LeadsOnline has allowed the investigation to continue and will hopefully lead to arrests in our case.”

Suspect uses an alias to charge rented power tools to company account and sell them for cash

“Well I don’t claim to be a Rock Star, but I do have a success story. This is actually a traveling theft suspect who was identified through LeadsOnline. He would go to equipment rental businesses and pose as an employee of a well-known construction business. He would then rent a saw or another expensive tool and have the rental company place the item on the business account. He would fail to bring the equipment back and then pawn the equipment at a local secondhand shop. Investigators had success with tracking his thefts via LeadsOnline. The suspect is a parolee and has numerous warrants from Kansas for violation of his parole and theft. He has committed these thefts in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. This would not have been determined if it weren’t for Leads. Y’all are the Rock Stars!”
