“I investigated a motor vehicle break-in where a leaf blower was stolen from the victim. The victim was able to obtain the license plate number from the suspect’s vehicle, which had been reported stolen as well. During the investigation, Shelby Police Department in North Carolina provided a suspect’s name who had extensive history in their jurisdiction. They further advised that the suspect had been arrested in Florida approximately two days after the reported incident in my jurisdiction. I searched for the missing leaf blower using the suspect’s name and located the victim’s property in Augusta, Georgia. Through assistance with the local sheriff’s department in Georgia, the property was recovered and returned to the victim.
