“I was investigating a home invasion robbery and kidnapping where the victim was able to supply the serial number of the item stolen from her. Using LeadsOnline, I located the stolen item in a local shop and determined the identity of the person who sold them. I identified and interviewed the suspect less than 24 hours after the robbery. The defendant was in custody within 72 hours, and the item was returned to the rightful owner. Thanks for your assistance.”

$40,000 worth of jewelry stolen at gunpoint, suspect arrested with help of LeadsOnline

“A jewelry store in Monroe was robbed at gunpoint. Nearly $40,000 worth of jewelry was stolen during the robbery. During the investigation, I searched LeadsOnline and found my prime suspect’s brother sold a ring at a local secondhand shop. The shop photographed the item, and I identified it as belonging to the jewelers. After getting the ring back, we charged the suspect, and recovered about $12,000 worth of the stolen jewelry in his apartment.”

LeadsOnline helps police catch sexual assault suspect

“Detective Virginia Nichols, with the Denton Police Department Crimes Against Children Unit, was investigating a sexual assault of a child case. The suspect had initially contacted the victim via social media. The only identifying information the victim knew was a moniker and a cellular phone number. That phone number was searched through LeadsOnline and we were able to identify the suspect. That suspect was subsequently contacted, he provided a full confession, and was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.”

LeadsOnline helps track down murderer

“In April, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to a death investigation, which turned out to be a double homicide. Upon checking a person of interest on LeadsOnline, detectives discovered the individual had sold a Harley Davidson wallet, which was believed to belong to one of the victims. At the time, detectives believed the suspect was in Jacksonville, FL and were en route to that location. As detectives were preparing to leave for Florida, they discovered the suspect was actually in the Chicago, IL area, where he sold the wallet. Subsequently, detectives were able to track down the suspect, which resulted in his capture.”

Violent offender behind bars thanks to LeadsOnline

“Our county had a residential burglary occur in July where the homeowner came home and interrupted the crime. The suspect shot six times at the homeowner’s vehicle and then left the scene. Our burglary victim was able to provide a serial number today and we were able to verify that one of our suspects in the violent crime was one that pawned the stolen items the same day as the crime. The offender is a member of a criminal street gang and will be brought to justice soon. Thank you LeadsOnline.”

ecoATM help Newport News Police and U.S. Marshals Service find homicide suspect

“In October, I was asked for assistance by the U.S Marshals Fugitive Task Force to help locate a homicide suspect. The suspect had left the area and the U.S Marshals had run out of places to look. I entered the suspect’s name in LeadsOnline. The search revealed that the suspect had a few entries, but nothing recent. A search, with the help of the associations icon, was entered and revealed a name of a family member. That name was entered into LeadsOnline, which resulted in a recent ecoATM transaction in Northern Virginia. When that transaction was viewed, not only did it show the family member, but the homicide suspect was standing next to him. The transaction had a valid address listed for the family member. Based on the ecoATM transaction, LEO’s in that jurisdiction were notified of the situation and responded to the family members address the next day. The suspect was arrested and transported back to Newport News for prosecution. Without the partnership and technology that LeadsOnline and ecoATM provides, this homicide suspect could have been on the run for a while. This case is one of numerous success stories that the Newport News Police Department could provide to LeadsOnline. The Newport News Police Department is grateful for the hard work and dedication that LeadsOnline provides all Law Enforcement, so that we can have success stories like this one. “There is no greater Love than this, one who will lay down his life for a friend” LEO-FIRE-MILITARY ”

Oxford Police work with ecoATM and LeadsOnline to solve homicide in first 48

“A dead body was found inside a house because of a welfare concern. No suspect or evidence was found on the scene. We pinged his cellular device to a town 100 miles south of my jurisdiction near a Walmart. We could not find the phone. For two days the phone did not move. I logged onto LeadsOnline and put his ex-lover’s name into LeadsOnline search because the lover was from that town where the cell phone pinged. We also had a recent report of a disturbance between the two in my jurisdiction. Once I searched his name, it showed he sold the cell phone to the ecoATM inside Walmart. Plus, Walmart video showed he drove the automobile of the murder victim to Walmart. The vehicle was stolen after the murder. With this evidence, he confessed.”

LeadsOnline identifies kidnapping suspect with little information

“We had an aggravated robbery and kidnapping occur with a suspect armed with a handgun. We were able to identify 3 of the 4 suspects and were only provided initials for the unidentified suspect who was the one armed with a handgun. During interviews other suspects advised that the unidentified suspect sold a cell phone in a ecoATM prior to the robbery. A LeadsOnline search identified the armed suspect selling a phone prior to the robbery, thus identifying the suspect and providing video of all suspects together prior to the robbery. The ID led to a warrant being issued for the outstanding suspect for aggravated robbery and kidnapping.”

Ohio masked man cleans out safe; Gets away, then doesn’t

We had a call of an aggravated robbery at cellphone store where two armed masked men tied up the clerk in the back of the store and cleaned out the safe. Both suspects got away however through investigation, I learned that the same suspects had robbed another cellphone store in Warren County. LeadsOnline came in helpful because I had placed an alert on one of the possible suspects and through further investigation found that one of the suspects was in at a business, hours before the Warren County robbery with the same clothing and shoes on. Out of state crook couldn’t hide with the help of LeadsOnline

“We had an incident involving a male subject pulling a handgun on a female subject and he threatened to shoot. I was able to locate an address for him and his family in Lenexa, KS via LeadsOnline thanks to him and his mother having sold items at a business in Lenexa within the past year or so. Lenexa Police Department was able to locate him and his vehicle there at the Lenexa address, taking him into custody on a felony warrant for him. A quick search in LeadsOnline greatly helped in locating the suspect.”

Shelby County uses LeadsOnline to track down over 2,000 felony warrants

“I uploaded 2,259 felony warrants into the LeadsOnline database earlier this month. The database does everything based off of driver’s license numbers. Since uploading those warrants into the system, multiple hits have started coming in from all over the country. This gives us an idea where our fugitives are. The hits come in the form of an email showing all the information associated. A hit came in on a suspect who was wanted since 2008 on Aggravated Burglary, Theft of Property, and Petition to Revoke Suspended Sentence. This is a Criminal Court Forfeiture warrant, meaning he went through the indictment process and skipped after the fact. The hit showed that he sold sporting equipment at a business in Jefferson City, MO just a day before the search. The record showed he lived at a specific address in Jefferson, MO. The file was reviewed and it was determined that he needed to be placed on NCIC for surrounding states extradition. Jefferson City PD was contacted and they made an attempt at that location. They advised he was no longer living at that address. CLEAR records showed a different address. Officer Skinner went to that location and found the wanted subject. He was taken into custody without incident. We have been receiving a bunch of these hits anywhere from Atlanta to Chicago and as we have the time we are sending those leads off seeking assistance, but this could be a huge victory for us moving forward as this somewhat automates locating fugitives.”

Time to fess up

“I was able to arrest a subject last week after recovering over 15 items on LeadsOnline.

The suspect started using ‘crack’ about six months ago and to support his habit he stole jewelry, guns, video games and several other items from neighbors and family members. With the help of LeadsOnline, I recovered almost all of the stolen items.

I was also able to get a confession once I showed [the suspect] the pawn tickets from your system. As a result, warrants were issued yesterday.”

Statewide access to LeadsOnlabs fights drug abuse

“I work for South Central Arkansas Drug Task Force in Arkansas, spread over eight counties. In the past few months, the guys in my unit and I have seen an outburst in red phosphorus labs and the one-pot method — known on the streets as “shake and bake” labs.

LeadsOnlabs has been a great resource in tracking the cooks. Having LeadsOnlabs in Arkansas is a great advantage. With multi-agency cooperation and being able to track the sale of pills, we have sucessfully been able to arrest dozens of people and seize 11 labs in less than two months’ time. Thanks LeadsOnlabs.”

Narcotics task force cracks down on meth abuse

“I am part of an 8-person multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force that has jurisdiction in both Arkansas and Texas. We have focused our efforts on individuals that are “smurfing” pseudoephedrine pills for area methamphetamine cooks. With the use of LeadsOnlabs we have successfully been able to compile several conspiracy cases involving an astronomical number of individuals, both the individuals “smurfing” pills and the cooks themselves. Also, during these investigations we have been able to contact other drug task force agencies with information gained through our investigations which have led to several seizures of methamphetamine labs.

Out of all the surveillance equipment, hi-tech gadgets, and other items we use in our daily efforts to fight the war on drugs, LeadsOnlabs by far is one of the greatest tools at our disposal. In fact, we are currently in the process of attempting to get our pharmacies in the state of Texas on board with your system. Thanks for all your work.”

Stolen camcorder and a drug bust

“A month ago, LeadsOnline helped me in a theft from a vehicle investigation. My victim reported leaving his vehicle unlocked while he was at a bar celebrating the birth of his new son — he said his wife and new son were at the hospital recuperating…

I quickly found my victim’s Canon camcorder pawned with the assistance of LeadsOnline. I arrested the guy that pawned it. He admitted stealing the camcorder. However, the suspect told me that my victim was not telling the truth about where the camcorder was stolen.

The victim admitted that he and the suspect went to a drug house to get high.”

Stolen items, car break-ins, and drug Arrests

“We had a rash of car break-ins and stolen vehicles. One of the vehicles was recovered in the city of Norwood with a subject passed out inside the car. While working with the Norwood Detectives, they decided to run some of the property that was stolen out of both our jurisdictions.

Eventually, we made the connection that several people were connected in the car break-ins and all participants were heroin addicts trying to support their habit.

We actually had another suspect with the group, but were unable to get him to cooperate. However, we were able to link him to a burglary in Madeira months later, thanks to LeadsOnline, by locating some tools that were sold at a pawn shop in Newport, Kentucky.

At this time, the Madeira Police Department has closed several cases with the assistance of LeadsOnline. It has been a great tool and I am looking forward to using it in the future.”

Selling stolen jewelry to support a drug habit

“I was assigned a larceny case in which the victim reported $11,000 of assorted jewelry stolen from her residence. In her initial report to law enforcement, the victim provided the name of a person she thought may have been responsible. This person, who the victim considered a friend, was known to have once been addicted to illegal drugs and had accessed the victim’s residence around the time of the report. When assigned this case for investigation, the first course of action I took was to run a quick LeadsOnline search. Guess what? The week prior to this incident being reported, our person of interest had visited a local pawnbroker three times in which she had sold numerous amounts of yellow and white gold for scrap. When confronted with evidence against her, the suspect confessed.”

LeadsOnline used to find crime traveler in Georgia

“The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office received an unusual telephone call reporting narcotics related activity in a neighborhood. The caller, as it turns out, gave false information about himself and his motive for calling. The suspect, “John Smith”, had purported himself as an undercover police officer resulting in this agency signing a warrant for his arrest for “Impersonation of a Police Officer.” John Smith learned of the warrant through his girlfriend who ran from law enforcement in order to assist John Smith in eluding police contact. During the investigation, it was learned John Smith had a habit of stealing television sets from motels in one location then pawning same in another location away from the first. With the usage of LeadsOnline, this agency was able to locate the areas of where Smith had recently been. Pawn shops from Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Missouri that participate in your program enabled this agency to keep up with our suspect then eventually leading to his capture in the State of Georgia. Your LeadsOnline program is an invaluable tool that should be available on every investigator’s desktop.”

Stolen guns, crack cocaine and $10,000 in stolen bikes found via LeadsOnline

“LeadsOnline showed me where a suspect pawned a stolen $1,000 bicycle. We were able to use this information to verify what a confidential informant had told us and write a search warrant. The house, we later learned from neighborhood residents, was a new crack house and fence for stolen property.”

Heroin addict admits to jewelry theft

“Last week I was dispatched to a theft of jewelry complaint. Turns out it was a felony (over $3,500 worth). After dealing with the victim I logged onto LeadsOnline and found the suspect pawned the items about an hour after she was at the victim’s house. In the end, I have a solid theft case and admission of heroin use as motivation for the crime. “Another awesome day for LeadsOnline searches! We recovered 10 laptops and a large screen computer monitor with over $8,000 in recoverable value! LeadsOnline helps police solve case in less than a week

“Sinclair Community College Police Department was holding a training class on how to use LeadsOnline. During this training, we used a case that involved a stolen tablet that occurred two weeks prior. While we were in training we used the serial number and model number that was provided to officers during the initial theft report. We were shown how to enter the serial and model numbers to see if we could locate any transaction tickets matching the information that we entered. We were also shown how to search for an item by using only partial serial and model numbers. When partial numbers were used we got a total of 15 tickets. While looking through the tickets there was one that stood out to me because it was only a few miles away from our college. We discovered that when you sell an item, the store makes a copy of your driver’s license and puts that information into LeadsOnline. Now having the name of a possible suspect, I determined that the person who sold the tablet was also a student at the college and attended class in the same location that the tablet theft occurred. I retrieved the tablet from the business, and was able to track down the suspect. Exactly one week later on, the suspect agreed to come to the police department and speak with me. After 20 minutes of interviewing him he broke down and confessed to stealing the tablet and selling it to support his heroin addiction. The suspect was arrested and charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Thanks to LeadsOnline, we solved a theft case in one week’s time. If not for LeadsOnline this case would have never been solved. Thanks!”

LeadsOnline aids in identifying narcotics suspect

“LeadsOnline unexpectedly gave our agency a suspect’s photograph. An undercover narcotics officer came into the Tactical Information Office and asked the other officers to look up a DL photo of a suspect to write five felony drug delivery warrants. Unfortunately, the TIC officer was having software issues at that time. It always seems to happen at just the wrong time. I asked the undercover officer to let me give it a try in LeadsOnline with the hope that the suspect had sold a cellphone to ecoATM. So what you ask? ecoATM are the self-serve green kiosk in malls where customers can sell their used cellphones. ecoATM requires a valid driver’s license, and they also photograph the customer and the cellphone and attach the photographs to the LeadsOnline ticket. When I searched for the suspect I found an ecoATM ticket with a small camera icon. I clicked on the camera and there our suspect was with her smiling face. Since the ticket has the suspect’s driver’s license information and her image, the narcotics officer completed the warrants for her arrest.”

LeadsOnline catches heroin addicts selling stolen property for cash

“Normally I work sensitive crimes. In one case, I noticed a suspicious person selling silver items and jewelry. It was a male subject I was familiar with. Further investigation noted he had numerous cases with suspicious behavior. I used LeadsOnline to search his girlfriend and discovered numerous transactions from the past few years involving the same types of items. After a great deal of investigation, the victims (all elderly), were located and most of the items were identified. There is no honor or loyalty among criminals. Misery does love company.

“Three suspects, linked to over 10 burglaries in a four month period, were apprehended after a residential burglary in which they stole a victim’s purse while she was sleeping. After being awoken to the sound of glass breaking, the victim entered her kitchen to find missing property. She heard the sound of a muffler from a loud vehicle speeding away in the distance. The authorities were made aware of the use of the credit cards stolen along with the purse, and a still photo was acquired of one of the suspects involved. After the photo was placed on a website and in several newspapers, a tip was received as to the whereabouts of the criminal. The suspect turned himself in to authorities and gave up the name of a second suspect who was apprehended and questioned. In turn, he gave up a third suspect from the crime. After running their names through the LeadsOnline database, several items were found. The crooks are now awaiting trial due to the evidence brought forth from LeadsOnline. Thank you LeadsOnline!”

Felony charges for misuse of company credit card

“I was investigating an unlawful use of credit card case where an employee used the company’s credit card to purchase tools from Home Depot, but the tools never ended up at the business. The employee claimed he bought the tools and delivered them to the business, and he said someone must have stolen them. I checked the employee’s home, Craigslist, eBay and the other sales sites, but I was unable to locate any of the stolen tools. When I checked LeadsOnline, I found the employee sold several of the missing tools at multiple pawn shops in our area. Suspect with stolen credit cards caught by LeadsOnline

“After a series of burglaries, the suspect used credit cards taken during the burglaries to purchase gift cards. The suspect was very careful not to give us a shot of his face on surveillance video when using the cards. Transactions from the gift cards showed that he was less careful using those, giving us a shot of his face. We were still unable to ID him. He also purchased a pizza, and he provided his phone number to the restaurant when he ordered it. The phone was a burner and all normal attempts to identify the owner didn’t work. Elderly couple’s son fraudulently uses their credit cards and steals jewelry

“An elderly couple in our city reported the fraudulent use of one of their credit cards. In the initial interview with the victims, their 50-year-old son was identified as the person responsible for the fraudulent charges. After several days, this couple noticed that some of their jewelry was missing. At first, they thought the jewelry might have been misplaced. Since the couple’s son had already been established as a suspect in the credit card use, a LeadsOnline search was conducted under his name. Seven transactions with the son as the seller were located in an adjacent city. The jewelry was positively identified as the missing jewelry, and confiscated as evidence. The original tickets with the signature and fingerprint of the suspect were received from the Police Department of the city where these transactions were made. The business provided video of the transactions, and this showed the suspect selling the stolen jewelry. This case is now awaiting prosecution.”

Fraudulently purchased jewelry sold and recovered at local secondhand business

“An initial report to our call center started an investigation concerning a suspect making fraudulent purchases on a closed account to a well-known jeweler in the Raleigh area. A search on LeadsOnline indicated the whereabouts of the stolen jewelry, and also revealed other fraudulent purchases from other jewelry stores in the area. The jewelry was recovered from the pawn shop. Over $15,000 in fraudulently obtained jewelry was recovered from the pawn shop, clearing three cases. LeadsOnline reveals cybercrime and shoplifting operation in Minnesota

“I just signed up for my LeadsOnline trial this week. I was looking for information on obtaining user information to an eBay account, and before starting the subpoena process with eBay, I saw the link to try eBay First Responder through LeadsOnline. Looking for a resource that may expedite my investigation, I gave LeadsOnline a try. In no time at all, I received a call from a representative who was very helpful in setting up my account and giving me a quick tutorial on how to use the program. After ending our call, I put the suspect’s eBay seller account name into the database and received the information I had planned on not receiving for several weeks had I requested information via a subpoena. Two days later, a neighboring agency and I arranged an undercover meeting with the suspect. The suspect was later arrested after admitting she was selling stolen merchandise. A subsequent search of the suspect’s house found many stolen items and revealed the suspect was involved in a large shoplifting operation that involved approximately 12 stores in our area. I’m very appreciative that I found this resource! I know it will be beneficial in the future as well!”

“On Monday I was handed a theft case from my Chief of Police. Someone was selling a military item on eBay that was believed to be stolen. I contacted LeadsOnline and spoke with someone on their support team, while on the phone with him, I was able to look up and identify the suspect. Thanks to this search, I was able to identify my suspect and write a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. To top it off, I recovered two of the stolen military items, and the suspect was in jail the very next day. LeadsOnline streamlined the investigation process with the eBay First Responder Service.”
