Victim’s friend turns out to be the suspect of her stolen jewelry

“I received a report about a theft. The victim stated that she was letting a friend stay with her for a couple of days. The victim stated that when her friend left her residence to return to Georgia, she noticed some of her jewelry was gone. I checked LeadsOnline and found out that her friend sold the victim’s jewelry to three different businesses. I was able to retrieve the jewelry that was sold at a business in Martin County. The friend sold one item but subsequently bought it again. I then forwarded the information to a detective in St. Lucie County. Based on the information provided by LeadsOnline, I was able to obtain an arrest warrant on the friend for two counts of dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership and theft.”

Stolen ring blessed by the Vatican in Rome is returned to is rightful owner.

“I received a case where a handyman stole some jewelry from and elderly, 92, female. My victim was very sharp and was able to give drawings of her jewelry. One piece was a gold sailor pin that she got during WWII for her husband who was in the Navy. The other unique piece was her deceased husbands wedding band that she had a cross placed in the center. She had the cross added in Rome and then had the ring blessed at the Vatican. I used the drawings to search leads by description. The first one I searched for was the gold sailor pin. I immediately got a hit. The pawn ticket also had a gold ring with a cross in the band. I recovered the property and returned them to the owner. A warrant was issued for the suspect and he was subsequently arrested.”

LeadsOnline provides amazing evidence to investigators in Georgia

“We recently had a theft of some jewelry. The suspect was a family member of the victim. I typed the information into LeadsOnline and not only did I get the jewelry back, I also had amazing evidence of the pawn transaction where the jewelry was exchanged for cash. Without LeadsOnline, we would not have been able to make an arrest or get the jewelry back to the owner. Thanks LeadsOnline!”

$8,000 worth of family heirlooms are returned to the victims with the help of LeadsOnline

“I was dispatched to a residence. Upon arrival I spoke to the homeowners who stated they had jewelry missing. There were construction workers in the house for the past couple days. They provided me with the names of the workers and the boss. After phone conversations with all of them one was clearly my prime suspect. I ran all of them through LeadsOnline but didn’t get any hits. I ran my main suspect through LinX and found his girlfriend. I ran her through LeadsOnline and found that she had sold a bunch of jewelry. I sent a hold request through LeadsOnline to the business and had my victim meet me at the business the next day to identify the jewelry. There were two hits and two batches of jewelry recovered. Total stolen was about $12,000 total recovered was around $8,000; much of it were family heirlooms from a recently passed mother. I don’t usually let people hug me in uniform but my victim was so overcome with emotion when I found her mother’s wedding and engagement rings I couldn’t say no. Thank you LeadsOnline for giving me resources to help this woman.”

Heirloom jewelry thief caught thanks to online records system

“Earlier this year I received a report of several weapons that were taken from a resident. A suspect was listed, but she was not a resident of this city. I checked her through LeadsOnline, but there were no results for her selling any weapons. I did discover, through LeadsOnline, that she had sold a large amount of jewelry at various locations. The complainant in the case had no idea that any jewelry was missing. During my interview with the suspect admitted she sold all of the jewelry and told me that the complainant’s deceased mother wanted her to have it. Not true. She was filed on for the theft.”

Three jewelry cases solved in Louisiana

“Within the last two weeks, I solved three theft cases with LeadsOnline. The first case involved a couple going through a divorce where the victim’s ex-husband sold her personal jewelry she acquired before their marriage. I recovered seven pieces of jewelry belonging to the victim, valued at several thousand dollars. The second case involved a son selling his parent’s belongings. I located jewelry and tools, valued at several thousand dollars, from three different businesses in our area. The third case involved a gentleman stealing jewelry from his roommate. I was able to recover two pieces of jewelry that were left to the roommate by his mother. These cases were solved and property was recovered due to the LeadsOnline system. From these cases, I also gained five theft cases on behalf of my local stores. This system has also allowed me to recover stolen property for three other agencies because it was sold in our Parish. Thanks for all you do to help with our cases.”

More jewelry returned after being stolen

“I did a search in LeadsOnline like I usually do when I have a few moments. I was able to locate 22 pieces of gold jewelry that were stolen by one of our local dopers/thieves. Burglary ring caught before more rings stolen

“While searching for property from a residential burglary, I was able to not only discover 24 recoverable items of jewelry from the burglary, but develop two suspects who ultimately confessed. They gave us the identity of two more involved parties, as well as confessions to burglaries in a nearby county and most likely involvement in a third county. I was so thrilled to make this discovery as our victim had also been burglarized earlier this year and was terrified and ready to sell their home of which they love. I was able to develop suspects in the original burglary and recover many pieces of jewelry from that burglary. It turned into a multi-jurisdictional burglary ring that likely would have done unsolved without the help of LeadsOnline.”

Jewelry stolen by relative recovered and returned

“I recently picked up a case where a family believed a relative stole jewelry from the home while they were letting her live there. I entered the woman’s information into LeadsOnline and immediately received a hit. Sure enough, the suspect sold the jewelry to two area stores. I was able to recover a majority of the jewelry (some had already been sent off as “scrap”) and return it to the family. A majority of the jewelry was family heirlooms, and I was happy that I was able to get it back to its rightful owners.”

Ex-girlfriend burglarizes home

“I was assigned a case of a potential home invasion. I asked the homeowners if they were aware of any possible suspects, and they told me they thought that their son’s ex-girlfriend could be a possible suspect. I made multiple searches into LeadsOnline and found the stolen property sold to a jewelry store in nearby Taylor, Michigan by the father of the suspect. We retrieved the stolen property that was valued at roughly $2,000-$3,000. I prepared a search warrant for the suspect’s home, and the home of her father, where more stolen property was recovered. We even recovered a necklace that was not originally reported. After the search was completed, I arrested the suspect. LeadsOnline provides evidence to secure the arrest of crooks

“To the wonderful people at LeadsOnline, I am a criminal investigator at the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia. However, upon speaking with the suspect, he denied any knowledge of such theft. Thanks to LeadsOnline, I searched for the suspect and found he sold the gold jewelry the same day it was reported stolen. Local jewelry store catches employee

“A local jewelry store filed a police report stating they had gold jewelry missing from their inventory. They suspected an employee took the jewelry but did not know which employee and could not even pinpoint when it occurred. I searched LeadsOnline to see if any of the employees sold any jewelry, and one had. The business where this employee sold the jewelry actually photographed and uploaded those items into the database. I emailed the photos to the loss prevention officer from the jewelers. He positively identified the photos, and matched each photo to an item missing from the inventory. The employee was charged with larceny by employee, and the photographs and transaction records from LeadsOnline aided in getting the employee to confess to the crime.”

Suspect asks sister to sell stolen jewelry in different state

“We had a case where jewelry was stolen from a retirement home from three victims. The victims were all in their 90s. The retirement home had a suspect, and after running her name through LeadsOnline it came up empty. I ran a search with the same name outside of our state and low and behold, I found a match. The first name was different so I called the business where the jewelry was sold. After obtaining information, I discovered it was the sister of the suspect. The suspect told her own sister that her boyfriend gave her the jewelry and asked her to sell it because she didn’t have a license to drive to West Virginia. After speaking with the suspect by phone, she called her sister and told her the jewelry was stolen. The sister that had nothing to do with the crime gave me a statement stating her sister did steal the jewelry and admitted it to her. This is yet another case where LeadsOnline helped me solve it. Jewelry store employee caught stealing and selling during her lunch break

“I was contacted by a local jewelry store owner who suspected an employee of stealing jewelry from their store. The store owner asked if there was a way to check and see if this person was selling jewelry in the area. I conducted a search using LeadsOnline of the suspected employee and learned this employee sold 33 items dating back to the first month of employment with the jewelry store. The store owner began to search her files and learned items were deleted out of their inventory and/or placed on older receipts to make it appear that the items were sold. The secondhand business still had 21 pieces of jewelry in store. With the inventory hard copy photos, and the photos of the items at the secondhand business, we matched the items. LeadsOnline helped me compare her time card to show in 26 occasions the suspect took the items and sold them during her lunch break and then returned to work. The total amount reported in the 33 items stolen was $205,480, and the amount we recovered from the secondhand shop from the 21 items returned was $129,976. When the suspect was arrested and told about the evidence dating back to June 2013 with the inventory sheets matching the items she sold, she asked for an attorney.”

Score one more for the good guys

“I’m an investigator with the Oneida Police Department. We are a small department in East Tennessee and do not have a significant amount of resources. I recently worked a case involving the theft of over $14,000 worth of jewelry. We tried the local pawn shops but came up with nothing. I heard about LeadsOnline and signed us up for the trial. According to New York Police, many crimes would go unsolved without LeadsOnline

“A woman came to our department wishing to file a complaint for several thousand dollars worth of jewelry and precious metals stolen from her residence. She was unable to provide a time frame of when this jewelry was taken; however, she did provide the name of a person who had access to her residence and may be responsible for the stolen property. The problem was that there was no evidence linking the stolen property to the suspect. Within minutes of interviewing the victim, I logged on to LeadsOnline and searched the name of the potential suspect. The search revealed that the suspect pawned numerous pieces of jewelry and other precious metals over the course of several months. The LeadsOnline records displayed the dates and times the suspect pawned the items, as well as detailed descriptions and photographs of the property. The victim positively identified the property as the property stolen from her residence. The database also showed a photocopy of the suspect’s driver license that was required to pawn the property. This evidence was crucial for linking the stolen property to the suspect. The suspect was eventually located and arrested for his crimes. Without LeadsOnline, this investigation would have taken weeks of leg work and dozens of man hours with the possibility that this crime may not have been solved. As a Police Officer, Investigator, or Detective, having a resource such as LeadsOnline is an invaluable tool. I can say with certainty that without LeadsOnline, many crimes would go unsolved.”
