Recovered drug dealer’s phone leads to identification of other burglary suspects

“I was working a Strict Liability overdose death investigation. When the drug dealer learned of the death, he had attempted to get rid of the cellular phone he had been utilizing by selling it to an ecoATM. The transaction was located using LeadsOnline and showed the phone in his possession, even though the subscriber information had been fraudulently provided during registration.

I was also able to access the suspect’s frequent contacts via Call Detail Records. I ran the contacts list through LeadsOnline, and not only did it identify a large number of the contacts, it also provided a who’s who of burglary suspects for other investigations.”

Stolen ring returned to owner after Investigator uses LeadsOnline

“I began investigating a Larceny complaint where a wedding ring, valued at $20,000, had been stolen from inside a residence. The ring was stolen during a time frame when the victim had employees of a window cleaning company inside the residence performing work. I developed a suspect, and began searching LeadsOnline for any activity associated with their name and addresses. I located the ring by searching the suspect’s address. The ring had been sold to a store by an associate of the suspect, but was recovered and returned to the victim. Charges were issued against the suspect and the associate who sold the ring. Thank you!”

LeadsOnline provides information to Detectives in Arizona

“Two men entered a business and removed four guitars from the wall without paying for them, before escaping in a Ford truck. An employee was able to get a license plate and description of the vehicle, and the registered owner was later identified as one of the suspects. A LeadsOnline check was completed and I learned the suspect had sold one of the guitars to a business in Phoenix, Arizona. I also received a telephone call from LeadsOnline confirming the hit on the guitar.

With the information provided by LeadsOnline, I was able to ascertain which business the guitar was sold to, the item description, the ticket number, and suspect information immediately. I was able to place a hold on the guitar and retrieved it before it was sold. I was also able to locate the suspect owning the Ford truck and he is now in jail awaiting trial. Based on his criminal past, he is looking at a steep sentence. The second suspect is still at large.”

First day with LeadsOnline reaps success

“On the first day of using LeadsOnline, another detective in my bureau had a burglary investigation that resulted in the identification of the suspect’s eBay account name. Stolen commercial vehicle recovered after using key LeadsOnline feature

“In July, a commercial vehicle was reported stolen. Efforts to locate the vehicle were unsuccessful even after distribution of a flyer. A few days later, a review was conducted of transactions on the “resident activity outside jurisdiction” report available on LeadsOnline. Among those listed was a suspect in the stolen vehicle case who had sold property to a GameStop location in Lancaster, PA. The local PD was alerted to the fact that the stolen vehicle may be in their jurisdiction. Within 12 hours of the notification the stolen vehicle was recovered on the parking lot of a local convenience store that was about 2 hours away from where it had been stolen. This lead certainly expedited the recovery of the stolen vehicle.”

Victim’s friend turns out to be the suspect of her stolen jewelry

“I received a report about a theft. The victim stated that she was letting a friend stay with her for a couple of days. The victim stated that when her friend left her residence to return to Georgia, she noticed some of her jewelry was gone. I checked LeadsOnline and found out that her friend sold the victim’s jewelry to three different businesses. I was able to retrieve the jewelry that was sold at a business in Martin County. The friend sold one item but subsequently bought it again. I then forwarded the information to a detective in St. Lucie County. Based on the information provided by LeadsOnline, I was able to obtain an arrest warrant on the friend for two counts of dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership and theft.”

Stolen ring blessed by the Vatican in Rome is returned to is rightful owner.

“I received a case where a handyman stole some jewelry from and elderly, 92, female. My victim was very sharp and was able to give drawings of her jewelry. One piece was a gold sailor pin that she got during WWII for her husband who was in the Navy. The other unique piece was her deceased husbands wedding band that she had a cross placed in the center. She had the cross added in Rome and then had the ring blessed at the Vatican. I used the drawings to search leads by description. The first one I searched for was the gold sailor pin. I immediately got a hit. The pawn ticket also had a gold ring with a cross in the band. I recovered the property and returned them to the owner. A warrant was issued for the suspect and he was subsequently arrested.”

Missing girl’s whereabouts are traced with the help of LeadsOnline

“I got a case assigned to me by my Captain which was a missing person report. The girl that was missing is 23 and a lot of things led up to the report and why it was assigned to me. Her social media updates had stopped, her phone was turned off etc. So I got information on someone she may have been hanging with. I started out by calling people, friends and known associates. They all had the same story that the missing girl and the guy she may be with were in rehab together and they are probably out looking for drugs. I decided to use LeadsOnline because I have solved so many cases using the system. I ran the guys name and he was in Michigan pawning some items. I called the store and got the surveiliance video and they both the daughter and the guy we were told she was with were at a business getting money for a gold ring. I was able explain to the mom, that her daughter is in Detroit with the guy we thought she was with, and she appeared to be fine. She was glad her daughter was OK and now both subjects PO’s have been notified because they’re not allowed to leave VA without permission. LeadsOnline works for everything. LeadsOnline provides amazing evidence to investigators in Georgia

“We recently had a theft of some jewelry. The suspect was a family member of the victim. I typed the information into LeadsOnline and not only did I get the jewelry back, I also had amazing evidence of the pawn transaction where the jewelry was exchanged for cash. Even sex offenders get caught with the help of LeadsOnline

“I’m the sex offender and child abuse investigator for the Walker County Cheriff’s Department . I do not work many property crimes as they are not assigned to me. However, LeadsOnline has been very helpful in locating sex offenders. Recently, I found some local sellshop activity by a registered sex offender who is registered in another county. The address given to the local sellshop for his home is in fact in Walker County. After beginning an investigation, I was able to prove he was living in Walker County without registering. The address he had listed was also a violation due to being too close to a daycare and he also failed to terminate his residence in the county where he was registered. I’ve used LeadsOnline several times to help in my SORNA (Sex Offender Registration Notification Act) investigations.”

19 guns are recovered through LeadsOnline

“In August, we received a report of 11 stolen guns from a residence in our county. Unfortunately, at the time we had no serial numbers nor did we have a suspect. I started searching the guns using a description of each one. I noticed a name that appeared about three times on different guns that were described as very similar to the ones we were looking for. I ran the name and found 9 of the 11 guns we were looking for and also located 10 more that the victim did not know were even missing! After running the now suspects information through the DMV files, I was able to find that the suspect had a vehicle registered in his and the victim’s daughters name! This tied it all together. We called in the two suspects and got a confession! Thanks LeadsOnline, without this tool who knows where these guns would have ended up.”

$8,000 worth of family heirlooms are returned to the victims with the help of LeadsOnline

“I was dispatched to a residence. Upon arrival I spoke to the homeowners who stated they had jewelry missing. There were construction workers in the house for the past couple days. They provided me with the names of the workers and the boss. After phone conversations with all of them one was clearly my prime suspect. I ran all of them through LeadsOnline but didn’t get any hits. I ran my main suspect through LinX and found his girlfriend. I ran her through LeadsOnline and found that she had sold a bunch of jewelry. I sent a hold request through LeadsOnline to the business and had my victim meet me at the business the next day to identify the jewelry. There were two hits and two batches of jewelry recovered. Total stolen was about $12,000 total recovered was around $8,000; much of it were family heirlooms from a recently passed mother. I don’t usually let people hug me in uniform but my victim was so overcome with emotion when I found her mother’s wedding and engagement rings I couldn’t say no. Heirloom jewelry thief caught thanks to online records system

“Earlier this year I received a report of several weapons that were taken from a resident. A suspect was listed, but she was not a resident of this city. I checked her through LeadsOnline, but there were no results for her selling any weapons. I did discover, through LeadsOnline, that she had sold a large amount of jewelry at various locations. The complainant in the case had no idea that any jewelry was missing. During my interview with the suspect admitted she sold all of the jewelry and told me that the complainant’s deceased mother wanted her to have it. Not true. She was filed on for the theft.”

Three jewelry cases solved in Louisiana

“Within the last two weeks, I solved three theft cases with LeadsOnline. The first case involved a couple going through a divorce where the victim’s ex-husband sold her personal jewelry she acquired before their marriage. I recovered seven pieces of jewelry belonging to the victim, valued at several thousand dollars. The second case involved a son selling his parent’s belongings. I located jewelry and tools, valued at several thousand dollars, from three different businesses in our area. The third case involved a gentleman stealing jewelry from his roommate. I was able to recover two pieces of jewelry that were left to the roommate by his mother. These cases were solved and property was recovered due to the LeadsOnline system. From these cases, I also gained five theft cases on behalf of my local stores. This system has also allowed me to recover stolen property for three other agencies because it was sold in our Parish. Thousands of dollars of jewelry returned to owner

“We received a burglary complaint from a woman who reported that several thousands of dollars in jewelry she inherited from her grandmother and mother had been stolen. She submitted a stolen property list with detailed descriptions of the pieces that were taken. I was given the list to see if any of the items had shown up in LeadsOnline. I searched for the more unique pieces and ended up finding 12 pieces that were valued at approximately $6,000. We retrieved the pieces and returned them to their rightful owner. All the pieces were sold by the same individual at two different shops. He already had several burglary charges pending against him this year. Thanks to LeadsOnline, we can add another one to the list!”

Burglary ring caught before more rings stolen

“While searching for property from a residential burglary, I was able to not only discover 24 recoverable items of jewelry from the burglary, but develop two suspects who ultimately confessed. They gave us the identity of two more involved parties, as well as confessions to burglaries in a nearby county and most likely involvement in a third county. I was so thrilled to make this discovery as our victim had also been burglarized earlier this year and was terrified and ready to sell their home of which they love. I was able to develop suspects in the original burglary and recover many pieces of jewelry from that burglary. It turned into a multi-jurisdictional burglary ring that likely would have done unsolved without the help of LeadsOnline.”

Drug addict daughter steals family heirlooms from mother’s home

“I was working a burglary where the victim was robbed of family heirlooms by her daughter, an alleged drug addict. The victim kicked her daughter out of her home this past summer and had not seen her since. The victim provided us with the name of her daughter’s boyfriend. The home was processed for fingerprints and photographed. During the investigation, both suspects were entered into LeadsOnline. I immediately received a hit on the boyfriend suspect. The hit showed he pawned numerous rings that matched jewelry on the victim’s statement. Photographs were taken of the pawned rings and the victim positively identified the rings to be hers. The following day, I received another hit that the boyfriend pawned more items to an out-of-state jeweler that had been in town for a jewelry convention, just days after the burglary. As I began the process of having the items held, I received another hit showing the daughter sold a ring, now tying both suspects to the burglary and stolen property. Within the case I had three total hits thanks to LeadsOnline, and retrieved video from the pawn shop identifying both suspects. The case will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office with great evidence to pursue felony indictments. Thank you LeadsOnline! Not only did you give me evidence to close my case, you allowed the victim to retrieve her jewelry back that never could have been replaced.”

Law enforcement solves cases more efficiently using LeadsOnline

“Recently, LeadsOnline helped me successfully close a couple of cases. With both cases, I ran a suspect name and searched it in the LeadsOnline database. I located one victim’s wedding ring and another victim’s iPod. Both incidents were solved in a very timely manner because of LeadsOnline.
