An instant hit on LeadsOnline leads to the recovery of seven custom guitars for music industry professional

“Earlier this year we took a residential burglary in which the victim had seven of his beloved guitars taken. The victim is a musician and music industry professional who is very attached to his guitars. All of them were custom and worth thousands of dollars, not to mention the sentimental value to the victim. Fortunately for him, LeadsOnline came through again as a valuable investigative tool. The day after the burglary, I began investigating the case in the same way I do all of my cases. First, I checked LeadsOnline for the stolen property. Instantly, I was able to see that the suspect in the case took three of the guitars to separate businesses in our area, along with some stolen electronics. I was able to get holds placed on them immediately, and through the businesses, I verified the suspect information they had on file. Using the investigative leads that came from LeadsOnline, I was able to find the rest of the guitars at another area business that wasn’t on LeadsOnline. I talked to them about the success we have finding stolen property and solving burglaries through LeadsOnline. I was assured by their store manager that getting signed up for LeadsOnline was definitely in their future!”

North Carolina police use LeadsOnline to recover stolen jewelry across state lines

“I had a residential break-in case where over 70 pieces of jewelry were taken, as well as some tools. I had no physical evidence and very little to work with. Following up with the victim, I was able to get a serial number for an air compressor. With a LeadsOnline hit at a business, I developed a suspect. I was able to recover over 50 pieces of the stolen property for my victim. I put the primary suspect on my watch list and a few months later, he was developed as a car theft suspect in another district at my agency. I saw where he sold more jewelry in Oklahoma and we were able to link the jewelry to another break-in. Needless to say, LeadsOnline has been great for us.”

New LeadsOnline users are extremely pleased with their success

“About a month ago, we took advantage of the LeadsOnline 30 day free trial. Previously, I would contact the business and have them gather information for me. They were always helpful, but turnaround time was poor, and I always had to ask for assistance. We took full advantage of the trial period, made several arrests and recovered victim’s property. I inquired about LeadsOnline from a cost standpoint and was really pleased at how little the cost for our department would be. I had no problem presenting this to our Sheriff, and he immediately got us on board. We have recovered numerous stolen items, family heirlooms, etc. and made several felony arrests. Our entire department is very pleased with our newest tool in our fight against crime.”

4 antique tractors recovered in 4 days

“A complaint was made to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office of a theft and burglary where four antique tractors were taken from a property, plus several items from the residence on the property. Less than one hour after receiving the complaint, a check through LeadsOnline revealed two of the tractors being sold to a scrap yard in Alexandria, Louisiana. The next day, another tractor was located at another scrap yard — and the fourth tractor was located at a third scrap yard. My search also found a High School ring from the complainant being sold at a Pawn Shop. The complainant didn’t know the ring was stolen, so she was very surprised and thankful to get the ring back. At the start of the investigation I had four suspects, to date one has been arrested, two warrants have been issued and one pending.”

Property couldn’t have been found without LeadsOnline

“In April, I checked LeadsOnline for any recent NCIC hits. I saw that an iPad that had been reported stolen during a forced-entry burglary and had been sold to an EcoATM machine. I was able to return the stolen property to the original owner, and an arrest was made for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Theft by Deception. The interview with the person who sold the item solidified my probable cause, and arrest warrants are out for the person who committed the burglary. Without LeadsOnline, the property would never have been found, and the case would remain unsolved.”

Gilbert PD recover over $20,000 worth of stolen property

“Due to NCIC reporting guidelines several items with serial numbers never get entered into the national database, and therefore have a slim chance of getting recovered. With this being known, I began running every stolen item with a serial number reported to our agency through LeadsOnline. Since beginning this, we have recovered over $20,000 worth of our victim’s stolen property from 30 different cases. Out of the 30 cases, so far 12 people have been arrested. LeadsOnline proves you have to be careful who you trust

“In January, our agency took a theft report where our victim reported five items of jewelry missing from her bedroom. During my interview with the victim, she disclosed that she had an HVAC serviceman in her home around the same time she believed the jewelry went missing. She trusted the serviceman and never would have suspected him to steal from her. After obtaining the serviceman’s name, I searched him on LeadsOnline. During the search, I located a ticket from a business that listed the serviceman as the selling party. The ticket included a photograph of the jewelry, a picture of the serviceman during the transaction, and a photograph of his Illinois state identification card he presented. The serviceman sold our victim’s jewelry to the business for $450, about a half hour after he was in her home. The retail value of the jewelry was approximately $1,500. The jewelry was recovered and an arrest warrant for residential burglary was later obtained and successfully executed.”

Two suspects caught, sentenced to 10 and 20 years

“I was assigned a Burglary and Break/Enter to a home and storage building. A Craftsman lawn mower was taken sometime between 1/21/10 and 2/2/10, when the thefts were discovered. I checked our local pawn shops for this date range for a Craftsman mower and found where one had been pawned on 1/27/10 (not the season for push mowers). I was able to determine it was in fact the mower of my victim, an elderly man. I was able to interview the person who pawned the mower and the results were a full confession to more than $1,000 of additional property that was taken — that the victim didn’t even realize. In addition, an additional suspect was identified and also gave a confession. One is now serving 10 years and the other 20 years, thanks to finding my mower using LeadsOnline. Thanks for a great Law Enforcement tool.”
