Recovering stolen property with LeadsOnline makes crime victim’s day

“Thanks to this program I was able to locate an Apple computer and a firearm from two different cases. Both were returned to the owners, and they were incredibly happy. It was the perfect time of the year, and they could not have been any more grateful to have the items returned. We closed these cases and made someone’s day. Thank you for all the help!”

LeadsOnline helps put faith into victims

“Recently I have had 2 cases where a cellphone was part of the items taken during robberies of persons. I was able to locate the cellphones, I.D. possible suspects, recover the phones, and make arrests and charge the subjects responsible for the robberies. I have solved so many cases due to LeadsOnline, it’s unreal. LeadsOnline is one of my main tools that I use on an everyday basis. I have been able to put faith into the victims that someone does care about them and is working to help them. Thank the complete staff at LeadsOnline! Y’all are the rock stars in my eyes.”

A picture’s worth a thousand words

“A thief had stolen a woman’s cell phone from a grocery cart. She called EcoATM and gave them her phone’s IMEI number. EcoATM called her when her phone was sold to one of their kiosks. The lady came and made a police report and I found the phone at a kiosk in a neighboring city. EcoATM took several HD pictures of the thief from different angles, as well as a scan of his ID card and his thumb print. All of this was available to me when I logged onto LeadsOnline. Needless to say, the thief admitted to the theft and the sale of the stolen cell phone.”

Stolen flute recovered with serial number

“While investigating a residential breaking and entering case, I located transaction records of a serial number connected to a stolen Yamaha flute. The shop in Greensboro, N.C. was contacted, and I learned the business still had the stolen flute. Once I responded to the shop, I learned several other stolen items (from this same case) were sold there as well. We recovered the flute along with an Xbox game console, and several games. The property was worth over $2,600, and we recovered it with the help of LeadsOnline. Thanks!”

Law Enforcement can access LeadsOnline no matter where they’re at

“This web based pawn database has made my life as an investigator really easy. Even when I am off in training or class, I can monitor business activity and place holds on items. Weed eater stolen from front yard, found a week later

“We took a report from a resident who said they were using their new Stihl weed eater in the front yard when it ran out of string. They took the spool off the weed eater, and went to the garage to re-spool it. Upon returning within minutes to finish the job, the new Stihl weed eater was gone so they filed a theft report. It took the complainant a little over a week to provide us with the model and serial number, but once we had that information, we entered the weed eater into LeadsOnline. Not checking my hit list every day (like I will now) my LeadsOnline rep. called me and reminded me to check my hit list because there were alerts waiting. After a little follow up investigation, we did an early morning wakeup call to our suspect. On the way back to PD, after stopping for coffee, we just so happened to drive by the house where the weed eater was stolen from and the suspect said, ‘That’s the house I took the weed eater from.’ End of story thanks to LeadsOnline.”

Church burglaries solved using LeadsOnline

“We had a series of church burglaries in in which the suspect would steal the church’s utility trailer and then burglarize the church, loading the stolen property onto the trailer. There was no suspect information. Using LeadsOnline I was able to identify the suspect, recover three stolen trailers, and an assortment of stolen lawn equipment. In one week we recovered approximately $10,000 worth of stolen property. There is no doubt these cases would have gone unsolved without LeadsOnline.”

Hey – Your boyfriend keeps stolen stuff at your house.

“We had a rash of tool thefts in one specific area of town and we didn’t have a suspect. I used LeadsOnline to run a search on a stolen leaf blower. It led us to a name who had no local records or file. Though he was from another state, we were able to locate him and his girlfriend who was a local. A search warrant was served on his girlfriend’s home and we recovered multiple tools and the suspect. We ended up with multiple felony charges and we were able to return the tools.”

Detective solves first case by recovering stolen items in 2 hours

“Last month I was reassigned to the Criminal Investigations Division of my Police Department. In less than a week, LeadsOnline helped me break my first case. The suspect in my case stole several items, so I looked on LeadsOnline first using the suspect name. My suspect had pawned an exact list of everything that had been stolen less than 2 hours after the incident. In less than 24 hours, I was able to recover every piece of stolen property and return it all to it’s owner, a very rare thing in law enforcement. I was also able to charge the suspect with four felonies based on investigative information aided by LeadsOnline.”

Georgia police highly recommend using LeadsOnline to assist in cases

“As a property detective, I have successfully used LeadsOnline to not only solve crimes, but also identify ‘fences’ in several cell phone thefts and robberies. I cannot praise the service enough, and I highly recommend it. Using LeadsOnline, I have personally recovered thousands of dollars in victim’s property. Most, if not all, led to the solving of other cases.”

Smart detective work – instant results with LeadsOnline

“When working a recent burglary, a victim gave a serial number, size and description of a stolen television. The TV was entered on GCIC. Several days later, I was contacted by another Police agency and advised that they had stopped a vehicle with a TV in it that matched my entered serial number, but the TV was a different size. I remembered the victim had stated he bought the TV from a pawn shop several months ago. I entered LeadsOnline and ran the serial numbers the timeframe of the last two years. I immediately got a return and verified that the victim had reported the wrong size on the TV as verified by the pawn ticket when the pawn shop purchased the TV. As a result, the TV was verified and confiscated. Without LeadsOnline, the verification on the TV size could have taken a while. LeadsOnline is a great investigative tool and a great search method for property.”

Police Department implements LeadsOnline after solved crime

“A suspect stole a new snow blower from a hardware store in a local community, but the police department did not have LeadsOnline. I received a call from the police department to check our database, and I located the stolen item along with the suspect. The time of the sale was within travel time from the time and location of the reported theft. The suspect has been arrested and charged with numerous crimes. The local police department called and asked for information about LeadsOnline, and will implement this service into their department.”

How long do Ohio police keep looking for stolen guns? Well, 35 years or until they find it, whichever is last.

“Deputy Tim Rammel was doing a routine check of the NCIC hits and came across one that matched for a stolen gun. Simple enough, however, the orignal theft report was taken in November of 1981. After a couple trips to the Pawn Shop and contacting the original owner’s way back then, we were able to locate a stolen gun from a 1981 theft case. Awesome.”

Police use LeadsOnline to put the brakes on auto thefts, burglaries from brake repair shops

“Numerous tools had been stolen from Brake Check stores. There were no suspects or leads. The tools were entered into our department pawn database with no success on hits. We developed a name of a suspect and ran pawn searches. Not only did we find the tools stolen recently, but also the ones stolen in burglaries four months earlier as well. All were dutifully recorded in LeadsOnline. We can more than likely clear 11 Burglaries, 2 auto thefts and one burglary of a vehicle all thanks to LeadsOnline.”

LeadsOnline: It’s just better

“1. LeadsOnline is a much faster system. Our in-house system is backlogged anywhere from two weeks to six months. 2. LeadsOnline is an electronic system. Our in-house system has numerous stores that do not transfer data electronically. We have to pick up the pawn slips and have them entered into our system by hand. 3. LeadsOnline is nationwide. Our in-house system can only search stores in Austin. The bad guys know this and will take stolen property to different cities to pawn. 4. LeadsOnline is potentially more accurate. LeadsOnline data only has to be entered once electronically. Using our in-house system, the data may have to be hand entered more than once. This can create errors. 5. LeadsOnline has additional helpful info. LeadsOnline has more data concerning phone numbers and addresses of the businesses right on the search page.”

More than 11 burglaries cleared

“I had several burglaries of Brake Check stores in June 2004. The suspects stole numerous tools. There were no suspects or leads. No new burglaries of Brake Checks occurred until October 2004. We developed a name of a suspect and ran pawn searches [on LeadsOnline]. Not only did we find the tools stolen in October and November but also the ones stolen in the June burglaries as well. All were dutifully recorded in the LeadsOnline database. We can more than likely clear 11 Burglaries, 2 auto thefts and one burglary of a vehicle all thanks to LeadsOnline.”

Florida Sheriff’s department has success in trial period of LeadsOnline

“My agency was presented with LeadsOnline. During the demonstration, a stolen article was linked to our ORI. Further investigation revealed that the item was, in fact, stolen from our jurisdiction in early 2013. Without LeadsOnline we would have had slim chances in finding the sold item. Since that date, I have been able to solve additional cases. Thank you LeadsOnline for assisting in Law Enforcement Officer’s endeavors to recover stolen property.”

Multiple thefts across three jurisdictions

“I was assigned a Stealing Over $500 investigation involving an employee from a carpet cleaning company. While cleaning victims’ carpets, the employee stole three very expensive rings. During the course of my investigation, I entered the employee’s name into LeadsOnline in an attempt to locate him. The employee is an immigrant from Iraq, and due to his unusual name, I entered just the first name into the LeadsOnline system, which came up with a match. He sold four pieces of jewelry to a pawn shop in St. Charles City (a neighboring county). The victim in my case identified one of the rings as being hers. The ring recovered was valued at $1,800.00. I spoke with the St. Charles City, Missouri Police Department about the offense. Det. Gary Drury from St. Charles City advised me that he possibly had a case on the employee. After speaking with me, he was also able to make a case on the employee. Through further investigation, I found that the Crestwood, Missouri Police Department also had an interest in the employee. After relaying information to Det. Applebaum from Crestwood, he was able to make the case. In total, the employee pawned 15 items of jewelry at area pawnshops. He is currently pending trial in circuit court. Without LeadsOnline, this case may have gone unsolved.”

Citizen grateful after Sheriff Deputy rushes to find stolen sentimental gifts 50 miles away

“LeadsOnline has dramatically increased our theft case solving rate in just the short time that we have been utilizing it. The latest case involved a theft at a women’s residence where several electronics device had been stolen. We later found out that they had been gifts from her mother who had passed away and meant more to her than a simple dollar amount. We were able to locate the items at a pawn store 50 miles away along with a store photograph of the suspect and their driver’s license. This person will be prosecuted. The woman will receive her items back and showed an overwhelming gratitude for our efforts. This case and many others like it would not be possible without this great tool.”

Score one more for the good guys

“I was investigating a theft from a mobile home. The suspect decided to move out without telling the owner of the property, and he also decided to take the brand new refrigerator and stove with him. I guess he needed some extra cash. I ran the guy’s name in your system and lo-and-behold, there he was. He pawned the fridge and stove for a total of $100 (original cost was $1,100). Warrant obtained! Good guys: one…bad guys: none! Thanks LeadsOnline!”

Police prove victim’s suspicion to be legitimate with evidence from LeadsOnline

“I took a Theft of Property report where several Dewalt drills, chargers and their batteries were taken from a business. The victim had one suspect, but he wasn’t really sure because he only had personal suspicions. I entered my case number and began working my case with LeadsOnline, and BOOM! There were some of the drills, among other items that were pawned by the suspect at two different pawn shops down the street from each other. I obtained a felony warrant – case closed. Very cool!”

Retirement community security guard burglarizes residents

“I was assigned a case where jewelry was being stolen out of residences’ at a retirement community. After talking to management and questioning people who had access to the residences, I completed a search on LeadsOnline and developed a good suspect. I made contact with management of the retirement community and questioned them about the individual. Management advised the individual was an employee of the retirement community who worked as a security guard and had access to all of the residences at the facility. Management had left off the individual because they did not think about the security guard position when they gave me a list of the employees that I wanted to question. The security guards at the facility get alerts when residents go out of town and request their residences to be checked while they are gone or request not to check the residence when they are out of town. The security guard would get a list of the residences where the homeowners were out of town and would then commit burglaries to the residences. After a LeadsOnline search, I was able to recover large amounts of stolen jewelry and a large coin collection that was stolen by the suspect. The suspect was interviewed and confessed to all of the burglaries. Without LeadsOnline, I would not have been able to identify the suspect and later be able to recover the stolen items. Thanks again LeadsOnline for all your help!!!”

Evidence for 19 criminal charges on three suspects

I checked all persons in the case through LeadsOnline and found that the TV taken in the burglary had been pawned. None of that would have happened if I had not found the television using LeadsOnline.”

Investigators share information via LeadsOnline in cross jurisdictional investigation

“A suspect was arrested and confessed to several car dealership burglaries where he targeted the safes. After making bond, he vanished. He was flagged as a person of interest in LeadsOnline at that time. Seven months later, I received pawn hits on this subject near the Mexico border. Those law enforcement agencies were notified of the pawn hit and also of his background regarding dealership burglaries. They advised that they had several car dealership burglaries over the last few months and the m.o. was identical to this same individual. They were able to track this subject down and arrest him on several outstanding warrants. He subsequently confessed to dealership burglaries in that area as well.
