Missouri police return victim’s stolen property

“A victim reported a residential burglary and the theft of a Chop Saw. When questioned about when the property was stolen, the victim gave a specific date. She said she departed for work, and when she returned to her residence she found her walk-through garage door wide open. I asked who she thought took the saw, and she explained she was having problems with her boyfriend’s brother. She said he was on drugs and was selling a lot of his family’s property. She identified her boyfriend’s brother by name and acknowledged she would likely never see the saw again. She reiterated how she couldn’t stand people stealing her property, and she wanted the suspect’s family to know she would go to the police. I checked LeadsOnline regarding the suspect and property. Even though the victim didn’t know the serial number and model, LeadsOnline assisted in identifying the saw. After checking the suspect by name, I learned he sold the victim’s saw. Charges are pending and the saw was returned to the owner.”

Washington church victimized by repeat burglar

“A church in our jurisdiction had numerous theft reports in a one year period. Unfortunately they don’t keep track of their serial numbers. Finally, they reported an unusual brand of microphone as missing and happened to have a serial number for it. I put the brand name only into LeadsOnline and found two had been pawned in a nearby city. I called the store. They looked at the microphones, and indeed the serial numbers matched. From there we worked backwards checking the suspect’s activity for the past year, and the results were staggering. Once we arrested the suspect, he gave a full confession post Miranda. The suspect pointed out even more items he took from the church and pawned. We seized a total of about 45 items that we were able to return to the church.”

Just like clockwork, we caught another crook

“We just had a burglary occur. We had a suspect name, and we knew he was in the area. Our detectives saturated the area looking for him while our Crime Analyst ran his name in LeadsOnline. She found a match that showed he always pawned at a certain pawn shop in a neighboring city. We sat up on that shop, and sure enough, up walks our suspect literally holding the stolen property. We took him into custody and he ended up confessing to the burglary, and we recovered all the property. Thank you LeadsOnline.”

$6,000 worth of property recovered thanks to LeadsOnline

“Our agency is in the process of getting LeadsOnline, and a LeadsOnline staff member set up an account so I could see how LeadsOnline works. Within a day of trying the system, I was able to solve a burglary case and recover over $4,500 worth of professional camera gear and other equipment at a local secondhand dealer. The suspect was charged with three felonies and might be able to solve others in the immediate area. Since this incident, I have recovered over $6,000 worth of property and have been able to return it to the many victims in these cases. I wouldn’t have been able to find this property based on our current reporting policies. I would highly recommend using LeadsOnline for pawn shop and gold buyer/precious metal dealers for reporting practices.”

Multiple burglaries solved in one day with LeadsOnline

“After we had several burglaries and thefts in the area, I checked LeadsOnline for the stolen property. In one day, I was able to clear three residential burglaries and one business burglary after I found the stolen items through LeadsOnline. This also allowed me to identify three suspects that were involved in two separate theft rings. I have been using LeadsOnline for a couple of years now, and this program has assisted me in solving several burglaries in our county. I would recommend this program to any agency that does not currently use it! Money well spent!”

Wyoming police catch suspect stealing in bordering state

“While searching for a forgery suspect and waiting for a warrant, I found he sold several stolen items at a business that was four hours from us. That night, we received more information on stolen property from a bordering state, and those items matched some of the items the suspect sold. After contacting the agency and explaining to them where the items were and who sold them, they successfully prosecuted the suspect for burglary. He is still awaiting trial on the forgery case.”

Search show iPod thief responsible for more thefts

“I was assigned a residential burglary case, and I conducted a LeadsOnline search for the stolen iPod. Since the serial number was provided to the Officer, I was able to positively verify the iPod was at a local shop. The items were sold within three hours of the time the victim left her residence. The victim was able to verify the Apple iPod was her property and stated she still has the receipt. I also located three pairs of women’s earrings sold by the suspect on the same day. The victim was able to give me a description of the property, and it matched the items. The items were on two separate transactions. The victim did not give anyone permission to enter her home or take her property. After conducting my investigation, I determined that probable cause existed to arrest the defendant for the burglary. The suspect was located in the St. Lucie County Jail and is being held for the following charges; Felony Theft and dealing in Stolen Property. I went to the St. Lucie County Jail to interview the suspect about the burglary. The suspect admitted to the burglary and taking the items that were pawned. The suspect did not admit to taking any property I did not have proof that he took. The suspect stated he stole the property because he is currently homeless, a drug user and owed people money. Thank you LeadsOnline!”

Image uploaded to LeadsOnline helps Florida police find stolen ring

“A victim had her wedding ring stolen from her home by a guest, but she didn’t realize the ring was stolen when it happened because she was in the hospital. When the victim realized the ring was stolen, it was past the 30-day hold and the secondhand dealer sold the ring. Leads played a part in this because the picture of the stolen ring was uploaded into LeadsOnline by the secondhand dealer, and it was good enough to use as evidence in this case.”

Florida cold case heats up when investigator accesses LeadsOnline

“I began an investigation into a residential burglary with a named suspect. By utilizing LeadsOnline I was able to link the suspect to two previous burglaries which had been inactivated by my division. By utilizing the information from LeadsOnline I was able to secure felony arrest warrants against the individual from the State Attorney’s Office and recover numerous articles for the victims. Additional charges are pending in several cases, but LeadsOnline was a great asset for this investigation.”

Port Arthur Police solve multiple burglaries and home invasions using LeadsOnline

“We had a string of unsolved burglaries that had no leads or witnesses. Many of the complainants in these burglaries did not even have the serial numbers to the items stolen. We believed we knew who the suspect was and I saved him as a person of interest. I began looking into each and every pawn transaction that the suspect had over made over the past 3 months. I went to the pawn shops and discovered that the property came from countless burglaries in our city. The suspect had made tons of pawn transactions from different cities and store locations. After the entire investigation was complete we solved about seven home burglaries and had warrants on the suspect’s entire crew. This could not have been done without the help of LeadsOnline.”

LeadsOnline helps return stolen property before the victim even knew it was stolen

“I responded to a victim’s residence after another detective discovered the victim’s stolen items were sold by a known suspect. Since the suspect was currently incarcerated on a multitude of similar charges, the detective felt these items were possibly stolen as well. He obtained the victim’s information and provided it to me. I contacted the victim, who then discovered his property was stolen. He was unaware of the burglary until I inquired about it. The suspect was subsequently charged accordingly.”

LeadsOnline helps stop theft crime spree

“I was able to identify four people who were stealing Fitbit smart watches from businesses. These people stole approximately 75 watches within a two-month span. New LeadsOnline users say amount recovered far exceeds expectations

“I am now a believer. My 30 days of free usage will come to an end soon, and I will miss not having it. This specific case was solved only because of me using LeadsOnline. I found the NCIC hit from LeadsOnline showing all stolen property entered. They showed where it was sold to, and this would have never been solved had it not been for this website. If all of our detectives use this, a lot more cases could be solved. The property that will get recovered will far exceed the amount we pay for the service in a year. I have only been using it for about two weeks and already in this one case there was $2,500 worth of property that was stolen, and I made three arrests.”

Tiffany jewelry found on LeadsOnline; far more sanitary than the other method for searching

“The jewelry store Tiffany and Co called us to report that they had just discovered that somebody from their cleaning crew stole several items from a back storeroom. They noticed that some items were missing from a storage bin so they reviewed the surveillance video and it showed the cleaning lady taking some items out of this bin and placing them in her jacket. The next day they confronted her and she admitted to stealing several bracelets, earrings and key chains all worth $10,900. When the Deputy arrived to investigate she gave him all of the items except 2. She said that she thought she dropped them at a Circle K earlier that morning. She went to jail for theft and I went to SEVERAL Circle Ks and looked through numerous trash cans. I ended up taking out all of the trash piece by piece and no luck. The next day I checked LeadsOnline, and guess what? She had pawned the 2 missing items the same day she stole them! She ended up pleading guilty to the charges and Tiffany’s got the 2 missing items back.”

LeadsOnline identifies a suspect name in nationwide stolen property search

“Recently, I was investigating a burglary from a storage unit. We had a vehicle description but no names to go with it. Using LeadsOnline, I was able to search for softball equipment, which were some of the items taken, and locate a female who sold items from the burglary. Upon presenting her with the transaction slips, she confessed to the burglary and identified the other two men who were involved. She has since pled guilty to the burglary and her co-defendant’s trial is coming up shortly. LeadsOnline provided me with the break I needed to gain major traction in my case and secure a conviction.”

Nursing home employee identified as suspect in jewelry theft

“On December 10 I received a burglary investigation from a nursing home in my jurisdiction. The complainant stated that someone had been removing jewelry from her bedroom while she was gone. She started noticing the jewelry missing in October going until December 7 when she reported it. During that time the complainant’s family contacted the manager of the nursing home, and made him aware of the incidents. On December 7, the manager placed a `nanny cam` inside of the complainant’s apartment, as well as a plain gold ring in her jewelry box. Later that afternoon the video captured a female nurse aid rooting through the complainant’s jewelry box. She then removed several items of jewelry, and concealed them on her person. The next day the manager reviewed the tape and identified the employee. Her name was then given to me, and I then checked her through LeadsOnline. The results were astonishing. It revealed that she had visited the same shop six times during the months of November and December. I went to that shop, and he still had the items that she had most recently brought in. I photographed those items, showed them to the complainant, and she positively identified the items. Also recovered from the Pawn Shop was the plain gold wedding band that was planted by the nursing home manager. A warrant was then issued for the employee’s arrest. Without LeadsOnline, this crime would have been a lot harder to solve. I would have never been able to find out where she had taken the items, and they probably would have been melted down if I had not located the jewelry in a timely fashion. Thank you again!”

You can’t argue with picture proof from LeadsOnline

“I was assigned a case in which a house was burglarized. While burglarizing the house, the suspect heard the resident inside the home and fled the scene. When the suspect fled, he left a backpack containing his driver’s license. A check of LeadsOnline revealed an ecoATM transaction in his name. As with all ecoATM transactions, there were multiple photos of the suspect at the time of the transaction. In the photos uploaded to ecoATM, the suspect can be seen wearing the backpack which was recovered at the scene of the burglary. It will be hard for him to argue in court that this was not his backpack now.”

LeadsOnline helps law enforcement identify three suspects

“In March, I was assigned a case in which three suspects, dressed as construction workers, entered three large construction sites located in Pasadena and stole multiple tools and pieces of construction equipment. Surveillance cameras on site captured video of the vehicle. I created a BOLO, which was sent out to surrounding agencies. I was contacted by a Detective with another agency and advised that they believed the same suspect vehicle had committed a similar offense in their city. I was further advised that they had been able to identify one suspect when the conducted a LeadsOnline search using the serial number of a stolen tool and discovered that the suspect had sold the tool shortly after the theft. I was able to locate this suspect and the suspect vehicle. I conducted a LeadsOnline search and discovered that he had cold multiple tools in recent weeks. I was able to view a tool bag with hand tools at a business and was able to verify that they were stolen from a construction site in a nearby city as there was a work ID still in the tool bag. We conducted surveillance on this vehicle and ultimately followed the vehicle occupied by three males drive to a neighboring county where they committed three burglaries of storage buildings on construction sites as well as one theft from a construction sites. All three suspects were arrested and are facing Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity – Burglary of Building charges. The results of the LeadsOnline searches are what helped identify these suspects as well as establish their pattern of crime.”

Lack of forensic evidence not a problem thanks to LeadsOnline

“I was assigned a burglary case with no forensic evidence gathered at the scene. The victims had several names that they submitted as possible suspects, along with their dates of birth. The victims did not have any serial numbers, but some of the stolen items were unique. I searched LeadsOnline for sales for the victims and the suspects and I actually located two sales by one of the suspects. I contacted the business and seized the items. An arrest affidavit was filed with the District Attorney’s Office for the suspect.”

Some repeat offenders never learn

“In February, I worked a burglary of a home in which multiple items were taken to include an iMac computer, jewelry, coins, computer equipment, and other collectable items. Using LeadsOnline, I located the iMac computer, which led me to the suspect, who confessed and returned a few items. A necklace worth $16,000 was never recovered, and it was sold on the street for a few dollars and the suspect was unable to advise who purchased it due to his intoxicated state. Total taken was $19,215, and I recovered $1,900 worth or property. We are awaiting a trial or a plea on this case.
