Items from church returned months after being stolen

“Leads does it again. An unidentified female called a church in Pflugerville and claimed she had left items in the sanctuary. After she was allowed into the building several microphones were discovered missing. The only information officers were able to ascertain from the church were the make and models of the microphones, a physical description of the suspect and a possible last name from caller ID. The offender did not fence the items for several months. Then, a Leads search of the property description without serial numbers, in association with the last name from the caller ID, returned hits resulting in the recovery of the stolen microphones and the positive ID of the offender. Guess who matched the physical description given by the victims? Thank you again Leads!”

LeadsOnline confirms the victim’s hunch was right

“I received a report assigned to me to investigate a home burglary. With LeadsOnline, in seven minutes, I got a hit on the suspect selling items matching the serial number of the stolen items. My suspect was named by the victim as a ‘shot in the dark’, but it turned out that the hunch was right. This is the second case that I have had in the past couple months in which LeadsOnline helped me track the suspect and make multiple felony arrests.”

Case solved from open to close in less than an hour using LeadsOnline’s basic description feature

“I was dispatched to a breaking and entering to a storage locker. Upon my arrival I collected all the information from the victims and about their property. I then ran the basic description through LeadsOnline and received a hit on a suspect that I had just written a warrant for the previous day in reference to a larceny. Long story short, in less than an hour, I received the complaint, seized the property from a local business, and returned the stolen property to the victims. Approximate value of the property returned to the victims was $700.”

Georgia detectives access rapid pawnshop data via LeadsOnline to solve crimes

“A victim reported that he was missing about $1000 worth of hand tools, and provided the serial numbers for one of the stolen items. This investigator looked this item up on LeadsOnline and located the tool in one of our local pawn shops. After finding the name of the person who pawned this item, this investigator then ran the suspects name on LeadsOnline and found that the suspect pawned the victim’s tools at three of our local pawn shops. This investigator then made contact with all three pawn shops to look at the tools that the said suspect had pawn which were all pawned about three weeks apart. All the case that the tools were in has the victims name on the outside of the box. All the victim’s tools plus some that the victim had no idea were missing was recovered and returned back to the victim. The suspect was charged with two counts of theft by deception for the pawn shops and theft by taking for the victim.”

All in the family; victim’s cousin identified in burglary by detective using LeadsOnline

“I was giving a burglary report that occurred two days earlier. I had been given two suspects names for the burglary, but had no proof, nor any witnesses. I was thinking on how to best to work the case when it came to me to check the new LeadsOnline system that we have. I put in the description of my stolen property (two Craftsman Tools) and then it came back with a match to a local pawn shop. One of the tools was pawned on the day of the burglary and believe it or not, my victim’s cousin was the person who pawned it. With this information I was able to get a warrant for the arrest of this subject. He was not listed as one of the two suspects in the burglary report. This person was not even thought of as a suspect, and as my victim said, `He’s my cousin`. With the arrest of this person I was able not to only solve the one burglary, but I was able to clear nine other cases which cleared a total of over 30,000 in stolen property. All I can say is LeadsOnline worked for me.”

Clearing cases left and right with successful prosecutions

“I’ve had four success stories in the past week. There was a home invasion where the property was recovered and a warrant was sought for the offender. Then there was a larceny. The property was recovered and a warrant was sought for the offender. We had another home invasion where LeadsOnline helped us recover the property and a warrant was approved for the offender. And for the last one, we assisted Taylor PD on a home invasion of receiving and concealing stolen property case. The property was recovered and the warrant was sought for offender. I cannot express how much LeadsOnline has helped us with prosecuting offenders!”

False burglary report leads to arrest

“While working the day shift patrol, I was dispatched to a burglary that had just occurred at an apartment complex. The victim was advising me that her front door was kicked in and several electronic items including a large TV, stereo system and an iPad were stolen. She had the serial numbers for all items and advised me she had rented them from a local business. I was able to look up the victim through LeadsOnline and observe she sold all of the reported items several months prior to my call. I filed charges of false report resulting in her arrest.”

Alabama police recover four stolen iPads for victimized school

“Another case solved!!!! At the beginning of the school year we had four iPads stolen from a classroom. We obtained all serial/model numbers from the school. The serial numbers were put into LeadsOnline, and the hits kept on coming. The suspects went to the mall and used an ecoATM to sell the items. The system takes a picture of them, their ID and their fingerprint. This is so awesome!!! Two big hits in one month. Thanks Leads!!!”

Property crime victim proven to be a fraud

“I am still getting nothing but success with LeadsOnline. I was working a case where I knew the home was not burglarized, and the items weren’t stolen like the victim was telling me. I continued to follow up on everything and just waited. About a month after the victim reported the crime, several of the items were pawned at a neighboring city pawn shop. All the evidence showed that it was the victim who pawned them.”

Multiple cases solved thanks to LeadsOnline

“A local business had reported several suspects stealing Roku boxes, Bluetooth speakers, Apple TVs, and DVD players. One of the suspects was identified after being followed to the nearest business. I searched LeadsOnline for local people selling Roku boxes and was able to identify two other suspects, and even got video from the business of them wearing the same clothing selling the items that they were wearing stealing them. I also contacted local agencies and provided their information for their respective cases. Several cases were solved and several warrants were obtained for the suspects.”

LeadsOnline does its part to get stolen property back

“Another success story from the use of LeadsOnline-I was able to use the good initial report from the Patrol Officer and the information in LeadsOnline submitted by one of our local businesses to locate a family ring taken during a theft in our city. The property will soon be returned to the victim. Just another example of how valuable this program is when all parties do their part.”

California law enforcement caps investigation with jewelry recovery

“I had a victim who just recently had a construction company complete a small renovation. After they completed the work, she noticed silicone caulk on her hanging clothing and on a drawer in her master bedroom closet. The crew was not doing work in there. She checked her room and discovered she had $2,600 worth of jewelry stolen from her house. I checked the names of the workers in LeadsOnline and discovered one of the workers sold the jewelry at a business. My victim recovered her jewelry and I got the evidence I needed for prosecution.”

Scrooge tries to ruin an officer’s Christmas; fails miserably thanks to LeadsOnline

“While on duty working patrol in December, I was advised by a neighbor of mine that I had just become a victim of a theft when two males stole valuable Christmas decorations from my front yard. My observant, elderly neighbor was able to give me the last 4 digits of the license plate on the suspect’s vehicle, along with a color. I immediately logged onto LeadsOnline, knowing that license plates are entered when its involving a scrap. I was able to get the entire Texas license plate from LeadsOnline from only knowing the partial plate. Thanks to LeadsOnline, I was able to get sentimental and very valuable items back to me, along with sending 2 suspects to the Harris County Jail for their actions.”

Detailed descriptions on pawn shop records identify stolen items

“A Shreveport resident called me in my office in reference to a theft that occurred at his home. The victim explained that his cousin came to his residence to borrow some money. When the victim went into another room of the residence, his cousin collected several items belonging to the victim, and fled. The victim called me after hearing the suspect pawned one of the items, an Xbox 360 and its peripherals, at a local pawn shop; however, he was unable to provide the serial number for the items. Using the LeadsOnline database, I was able to research the suspect’s information to determine the suspect pawned the items reported stolen, around the time the theft occurred. Having this information, the police department’s pawn investigator, Detective Courtney responded to the business in an effort to verify the items pawned belonged to the victim. Det. Courtney was able to verify descriptive information exclusive to the victim’s video game console, corroborating information the victim provided. The items pawned were placed on hold with the pawn shop, and a warrant was obtained for the suspect’s arrest. A Caddo Parish District Court Judge signed a warrant charging the suspect with one count of Felony Theft and the suspect was arrested. Thanks LeadsOnline!”

Plasma TV recovered by serial number search

“I use LeadsOnline everyday as a civilian pawn investigator assigned to the Property Crimes Division in Detectives. I have found stolen property in pawn shops in cases that were initially closed with ‘no leads.’ I was able to use LeadsOnline to find stolen property in 12 cases that were linked to one suspect who had been breaking into cars in our city and a neighboring city. The same suspect escalated his behavior and began stealing store `spinner` displays of gold jewelry, and pawning the jewelry. The story has a happy ending for us and the victims, not so much for the arrestee. A similar case occurred where a suspect broke into a heating and air conditioning repair van, stole several high-end tools, and pawned them. Using LeadsOnline, I was able to locate those tools and research the suspect’s pawn history. I found that he had pawned several similar items in May of last year. Those items were then matched to a theft case that had occurred in our city! Cases that had originally been closed with no leads were cleared. LeadsOnline makes it easy to solve pawn violation cases and return stolen property to victims. The suspects are left wondering how we found out about their crimes so fast! Thanks!”

Surprise kids – Ohio detectives using LeadsOnline can find jewelry you stole from your folks!

“We received a call from a resident who said jewelry was missing from his residence. He said the only people that had access to the house was him, his wife and her son. We thought that sounded fishy. We did some checking on LeadsOnline and determined the son had not only pawned the missing jewelry, but we determined numerous other items that were stolen from vehicles in our city and pawned by him. The merchandise was recovered and charges are forthcoming against the son.”

Apartment complex employee charged with multiple burglaries

“San Marcos Police investigated a burglary of an apartment where traceable items were taken, and there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. Detective Frans once again checked LeadsOnline looking for the property and once again got a hit. Subject named was believed to be an employee of the complex. This was confirmed and a search by his name revealed 81 other transactions in the past 12 months. The case was successfully resolved by a search on LeadsOnline and is one of many that has led detectives to re-open multiple unsolved cases once sufficient information is known for a more detailed search.”

LeadsOnline instantly identifies suspect in property crime

“A resident contacted me and said she was suspicious that a family member had taken over $17,000 worth of jewelry and electronics from her home over the past couple of months. I immediately searched the suspect’s name in LeadsOnline and every item had either been pawned or sold to a local gold buyer. $8,500 worth of items has been recovered and we are still working with the gold buyer to hopefully recover more. We understand that some of the precious metals have already been melted down, but this is a huge score for us and Leads Online!”

LeadsOnline unlocks answers for North Carolina detectives

“I solved a breaking and entering case in less than 24 hours with the help of LeadsOnline! A suspect broke into a shop and stole a very expensive door handle with locking mechanism and destroyed a $1,200 door in the process. I had a suspect and checked his name via LeadsOnline. He recently sold an item at a scrap yard that matched the door handle. I went to the scrap yard and there was the door handle my suspect brought in. I seized the door handle as evidence and contacted the victim to identify the item. When the victim arrived he identified the door handle as his and then produced a key from his key chain which fit the lock! The suspect provided a full confession and was behind bars in less than 24 hours after committing the crime!”

Victim’s own family member steals their property

“We had a person report that over several months, tools were disappearing from his garage. He wasn’t sure when it started, but thought it may be a family member. The first thing we checked was the family member’s recent transactions and found all 6 items that were missing, plus additional items he didn’t know were missing. The family member admitted to the thefts when confronted with the evidence, and several items were able to be recovered for the victim.”

LeadsOnline pays off for a small agency with first login

“We are a small agency with only two full time officers. It was time consuming and costly for us to travel to our nearest pawn shops, which are over 30 miles away. We would spend all day checking receipts and inventory. We have been looking at purchasing LeadsOnline for over a year, and after a rash of burglaries, we decided to purchase the program. Upon our first search, approximately three minutes after our first login, we found two items from our recent burglaries. After several search warrants were issued, we were able to clear three burglaries and five thefts. We are confident that we will solve more crimes associated with the three arrested individuals.”

Late husband’s belongings stolen from storage

“One of our residents reported that her storage building was burglarized. Many of her late husband’s tools and power equipment were taken. She had no serial numbers but she knew what was missing. She did not expect us to solve the crime because she had so little information. A few minutes later, I logged into LeadsOnline and recovered a good portion of the property. An arrest is forthcoming. It took me longer to type this email than it did to solve the burglary and recover some of the property. Thank you LeadsOnline. This message was also sent to our City Council who had the foresight to purchase this program.”

LeadsOnline works while investigators take well-deserved time off

“Our investigator went out on vacation for a week. In a small agency there are not many options so that left me to cover for his investigative case load. As luck would have it, two separate theft offenses came in during that time. Much to my surprise (only because most criminals know not to pawn) both were solved in a matter of minutes using LeadsOnline. The ease of use, the accuracy of the information and the contacts it provides are priceless to our agency. I was able to place the items on hold and get them released to the victim in a few short days. LeadsOnline is well worth the cost for any agency. It reduces the need to travel to every pawn shop around.”

Tracking down stolen GPS units

“SeaTac International Airport and the surrounding area has recently experienced a significant spike in vehicle break-ins at local parking lots. As the case progressed, a victim provided the serial number to their Garmin portable navigation system that had been stolen. As a result detectives immediately checked the LeadsOnLine database and found someone had recently pawned the device. With the information from the pawn records they checked local Field Interview Reports and found the same individual was also listed as the registered owner of a vehicle observed in the area of recent criminal activity. As a result, the Port of Seattle Police Criminal Investigation Division and ProAct Unit began surveillance of the suspect. Within hours they were able to follow the suspect to a bank and watched as he cashed a yet-to-be reported check stolen from another vehicle prowl. The suspect was arrested as he drove away. Because of the LeadsOnLine information, the Port of Seattle Police were able to quickly arrest the suspect further minimizing the impact to the community, clear approximately 20 vehicle prowls, and recover and return a substantial amount of personal property to the victims.”

Cross-jurisdictional law enforcement access solves crime in Chicago area

“Joe Howe just made an internal theft case out of our jurisdiction when he found an Aurora resident pawning 19 laptops for $4,000. As it turned out, he worked in the IT department of an Oak Brook company, misappropriated the laptops and pawned them in Naperville. The only reason he was able to put this case together was because of the trans-jurisdictional reach of LeadsOnline.”

Michigan police solve more part 1 crimes with online database

“Clinton Township Police has been using LeadsOnline since February 2012. Since that time we have obtained 10 felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant using Leads. Clinton Police have recovered four stolen guns and recovered stolen property from a neighboring community. We require, by ordinance, that stores take pictures of jewelry they buy. Using the picture, a victim was able to identify her jewelry even though it was melted down after the required hold time by the store. A warrant was obtained for the suspect in that case. Best of all, the department has made the storing and retrieval of pawn slips much more efficient, and at a minimal cost.”

North Carolina police track down stolen good with web-based property system

“A breaking/entering occurred in Wilkes County, and we had only been using LeadsOnline for about a month. One day before the pawn shop would have been able to dispose of the merchandise, I conducted a routine search using the suspect’s name, and I received a hit on the suspect’s name. He had sold property at a pawn shop in western North Carolina, while attempting to flee the state. I contacted the shop and had a hold placed on the property. Kentucky investigators improve solvability factors with LeadsOnline

“Fantastic investigative tool! Our most recent success involved a stolen television. Description in the report was a 26 in. Viore flat screen. That’s it. No serial number, model number or suspect info was available. Normally would have had a low solvability number. Ran just the description through LeadsOnline and received a notification that someone had pawned a 26 in. Viore flat screen on the same day that it was stolen from our victim. That information led us to the suspect’s front door, an admission and a very happy citizen of Christian County, KY. It would not have been possible without the quick, easy access of LeadsOnline. Victim in this case could not believe how efficient the process was. Neither could the perpetrator. Thanks again!!”
