Caretaker tending to property, not patient

“Once again your service has paid off in spades for our agency. We recently had a case assigned to my partner, Detective Ross Breeding, involving the theft of a $6,000 ring committed by a hospice worker who was supposed to be tending to her dying patient. Apparently, she was also tending to his property as well. Thanks again, we can’t imagine working without this valuable service. We use the service to track down stolen property, and also to track down crooks in other cases.”

Tough lesson for this crook

“I wanted to make mention of another success story thanks to LeadsOnline. Seabrook Police Detective Ross Breeding checked the serial number of a camera stolen in a residential burglary through LeadsOnline and linked it to a suspect. The suspect was located and arrested after having been identified by a pawn shop clerk. At the time of the arrest, several hundred pieces of stolen jewelry were also impounded along with computers, electronic devices, and a plethora of other assorted small valuable items. This also cleared multiple burglary cases in the greater southern Harris county area, and resulted in several felony charges being filed against the suspect. While it may have been extra work, it is the sort of work a good police officer doesn’t mind doing because it brought smiles to some of those who were victimized. Thanks to LeadsOnline, it looks like we will have more satisfying work in the future. Bad guys are getting spanked by the technology thanks to LeadsOnline.

One LeadsOnline hit uncovers multiple stolen items

“We received a hit on a serial number for a digital Nikon camera reported stolen in a residential burglary. The camera was sold to the Pawn Shop before the burglary was reported. Running the customer’s name returned four other pawns of stolen property without serial numbers at different pawn shops matching property stolen from the burglary.”

Computer stolen in vehicle burglary found by Kansas detective using LeadsOnline

“I ran a report search using LeadsOnline and located a computer that was stolen from a vehicle burglary. The computer was pawned a few days later and the suspect erased the hard drive in an effort to get around the security code. The suspect then entered her name as the user on the computer and downloaded a trial version of windows to make the computer appear to be hers. I contacted the owner of the computer who stated she did not know the individual who pawned her computer. I recovered the computer and identified a suspect in the case. Without LeadsOnline, I would have never been able to identify a suspect in this case or recover this computer.”

Vehicle burglary case, among others, solved with LeadsOnline

“I have only been using your program for about 8 or 9 months, but so far I have been able to solve several burglaries and thefts thanks to LeadsOnline. Officers of the Shreveport Police Department responded to a vehicle burglary in which a craftsman tool set was stolen from the vehicle. Upon their initial investigation it was learned that a neighbor had witnessed the burglary and provided officers with a license plate number. The case was then assigned to the Property Crimes Unit. Upon being assigned the case I ran the tag number and found that the car had been reported as unauthorized use against the owner’s son. I ran the son’s pawn history through LeadsOnline and found that he pawned the exact same tool set within an hour of the burglary. When presented with the facts that I had his pawn history, license number, and an eye witness, the son confessed to the vehicle burglary and was charged. The fact that I was able to locate his pawn history helped resolve this case and get the tool set back to its rightful owner.”

Louisiana detective busts maid who stole $173,000 in property

“A complainant noticed some of her priceless sterling silver missing and confronted the maid who had been working for her for approximately two years. The maid confessed to stealing the items. A more intense inventory was conducted and the complainant discovered more silver missing along with a lot of expensive jewelry, prompting her to file the police report. I began an investigation by using the LeadsOnline program to search the pawn shops for any activity involving this maid. I located a history dating back to one year which included $173,430 worth of sterling silver and jewelry that are part of the stolen property reported stolen by the complainant.”

First day of LeadsOnline trial yields two hits instantly

“Unbelievable! While I was investigating an Occupied Burglary case, I signed up for the 30-day free trial with LeadsOnline. Within approximately 30 minutes of signing up, I received a call from a LeadsOnline representative who was ready to give me a quick tutorial of the system. While searching for my prime suspect, I got a ‘hit’ in Kennewick, WA. We are now working on getting the victim’s property back. I was very impressed. I decided to put another name in. This case involved a stolen laptop – BAM! Another ‘hit’. This time it was in Renton, WA. Amazing! I couldn’t believe it.”

Detectives in Virginia use rapid search of transaction records to solve property crimes

“In recent months LeadsOnline has been instrumental in the investigations of a rash of vehicle larcenies and residential burglaries. Those investigations led to multiple arrests and have put a stop to many communities being targeted by these thieves. Even though we know as a law enforcement community that these types of crimes are ongoing, it is extremely helpful to have this database to obtain continuing information to assist in the investigation and prosecution of those who target our communities. Thanks again.”

Missouri police return victim’s stolen property

“A victim reported a residential burglary and the theft of a Chop Saw. When questioned about when the property was stolen, the victim gave a specific date. She said she departed for work, and when she returned to her residence she found her walk-through garage door wide open. I asked who she thought took the saw, and she explained she was having problems with her boyfriend’s brother. She said he was on drugs and was selling a lot of his family’s property. She identified her boyfriend’s brother by name and acknowledged she would likely never see the saw again. She reiterated how she couldn’t stand people stealing her property, and she wanted the suspect’s family to know she would go to the police. I checked LeadsOnline regarding the suspect and property. Even though the victim didn’t know the serial number and model, LeadsOnline assisted in identifying the saw. After checking the suspect by name, I learned he sold the victim’s saw. Charges are pending and the saw was returned to the owner.”

Updates to the LeadsOnline system makes catching crooks easier than ever

“The very first time I used the new LeadsOnline system, I located thousands of dollars’ worth of electronic equipment that was stolen from a burglary in my city. The items were located over 450 miles away, and without having the nationwide search, and without running it through the new Beta search, I would have never located the items. The NEW BETA SEARCH is AWESOME!!!”

One hit on LeadsOnline cleared multiple burglaries

“I received notification of a serial number match that I had entered into the LeadsOnline system. Confirmation was made that this was the same camera that had been reported stolen in a residential burglary case. In researching for the female who pledged this camera in a local business, it was determined that there were 110 transactions from her over the past eight months. Comparisons of the property listed in her transactions and property previously reported stolen to our agency resulted in additional burglary cases being cleared and also led to the identification of a male subject who had been committing these burglaries and using the female to sell the stolen goods. Telecommunications equipment stolen from vehicle found by detective using LeadsOnline

“While investigating a burglary of a vehicle, I used LeadsOnline and searched for numerous fiber optic cable analyzers that my complainant had serial numbers for. I received a hit on one and informed my complainant that I had only found one analyzer for him. I picked up the analyzer case from the pawn shop and later met with the complainant. When he opened the case he informed me that each component inside the case had its own serial number and that was why it appeared that I only found one item. He then proceeded to inform me that all of the fiber optic analyzers were there and that I had just recovered $31,000 worth of equipment for him. Thanks LeadsOnline.”

Automated hit helps detective find three suspects and stolen property in just over one week

“While browsing around in the new format, I found one of my stolen property items. It was reported from a burglary investigation, which showed an NCIC Hit” pawned 9 days after the burglary I was investigating took place. The ticket window had the phone number listed for the person selling the item. I called the number and spoke to the person selling the stolen property. She agreed to come in and subsequently confessed to receiving the stolen property from her baby’s daddy (my burglary suspect). She also identified two other accomplices in addition to the identity of the suspect’s vehicle. “”

LeadsOnline helps return stolen property before the victim even knew it was stolen

“I responded to a victim’s residence after another detective discovered the victim’s stolen items were sold by a known suspect. Since the suspect was currently incarcerated on a multitude of similar charges, the detective felt these items were possibly stolen as well. He obtained the victim’s information and provided it to me. I contacted the victim, who then discovered his property was stolen. He was unaware of the burglary until I inquired about it. The suspect was subsequently charged accordingly.”

Port Arthur Police solve multiple burglaries and home invasions using LeadsOnline

“We had a string of unsolved burglaries that had no leads or witnesses. Many of the complainants in these burglaries did not even have the serial numbers to the items stolen. We believed we knew who the suspect was and I saved him as a person of interest. I began looking into each and every pawn transaction that the suspect had over made over the past 3 months. I went to the pawn shops and discovered that the property came from countless burglaries in our city. The suspect had made tons of pawn transactions from different cities and store locations. After the entire investigation was complete we solved about seven home burglaries and had warrants on the suspect’s entire crew. This could not have been done without the help of LeadsOnline.”

Image uploaded to LeadsOnline helps Florida police find stolen ring

“A victim had her wedding ring stolen from her home by a guest, but she didn’t realize the ring was stolen when it happened because she was in the hospital. When the victim realized the ring was stolen, it was past the 30-day hold and the secondhand dealer sold the ring. Leads played a part in this because the picture of the stolen ring was uploaded into LeadsOnline by the secondhand dealer, and it was good enough to use as evidence in this case.”

Search show iPod thief responsible for more thefts

“I was assigned a residential burglary case, and I conducted a LeadsOnline search for the stolen iPod. Since the serial number was provided to the Officer, I was able to positively verify the iPod was at a local shop. The items were sold within three hours of the time the victim left her residence. The victim was able to verify the Apple iPod was her property and stated she still has the receipt. I also located three pairs of women’s earrings sold by the suspect on the same day. The victim was able to give me a description of the property, and it matched the items. The items were on two separate transactions. The victim did not give anyone permission to enter her home or take her property. After conducting my investigation, I determined that probable cause existed to arrest the defendant for the burglary. The suspect was located in the St. Lucie County Jail and is being held for the following charges; Felony Theft and dealing in Stolen Property. I went to the St. Lucie County Jail to interview the suspect about the burglary. The suspect admitted to the burglary and taking the items that were pawned. The suspect did not admit to taking any property I did not have proof that he took. The suspect stated he stole the property because he is currently homeless, a drug user and owed people money. Wyoming police catch suspect stealing in bordering state

“While searching for a forgery suspect and waiting for a warrant, I found he sold several stolen items at a business that was four hours from us. Multiple burglaries solved in one day with LeadsOnline

“After we had several burglaries and thefts in the area, I checked LeadsOnline for the stolen property. $6,000 worth of property recovered thanks to LeadsOnline

“Our agency is in the process of getting LeadsOnline, and a LeadsOnline staff member set up an account so I could see how LeadsOnline works. Within a day of trying the system, I was able to solve a burglary case and recover over $4,500 worth of professional camera gear and other equipment at a local secondhand dealer. The suspect was charged with three felonies and might be able to solve others in the immediate area. Since this incident, I have recovered over $6,000 worth of property and have been able to return it to the many victims in these cases. I wouldn’t have been able to find this property based on our current reporting policies. I would highly recommend using LeadsOnline for pawn shop and gold buyer/precious metal dealers for reporting practices.”

Just like clockwork, we caught another crook

“We just had a burglary occur. We had a suspect name, and we knew he was in the area. Our detectives saturated the area looking for him while our Crime Analyst ran his name in LeadsOnline. She found a match that showed he always pawned at a certain pawn shop in a neighboring city. We sat up on that shop, and sure enough, up walks our suspect literally holding the stolen property. We took him into custody and he ended up confessing to the burglary, and we recovered all the property. Thank you LeadsOnline.”

Washington church victimized by repeat burglar

“A church in our jurisdiction had numerous theft reports in a one year period. Unfortunately they don’t keep track of their serial numbers. Finally, they reported an unusual brand of microphone as missing and happened to have a serial number for it. I put the brand name only into LeadsOnline and found two had been pawned in a nearby city. I called the store. They looked at the microphones, and indeed the serial numbers matched. From there we worked backwards checking the suspect’s activity for the past year, and the results were staggering. Once we arrested the suspect, he gave a full confession post Miranda. The suspect pointed out even more items he took from the church and pawned. We seized a total of about 45 items that we were able to return to the church.”
