This gamer can keep on gaming thanks to their detectives recovery using LeadsOnline

“I was recently working on a case where a PlayStation 4 and about 20 games were stolen from my victim. The house sitter had some `friends` over and one of the friends stole the console and games while the house sitter was in a back bedroom of the house. Through LeadsOnline I was able to take the friends name and run it, finding that he sold roughly 15 of the stolen games to a business in Westland, just days after the incident. This led to the arrest of the suspect, his confession on the larceny and the retrieval of the missing PlayStation 4 console. I appreciate the help from LeadsOnline!”

Michigan police recover stolen property thanks to safe reporting from businesses via LeadsOnline

“I received a hit from Leads Online for an Olympus model e510 camera that was reported stolen in a home invasion. LeadsOnline sent me an automatic alert that the camera had been sold in Belleville, Michigan. The camera was indeed sold by the person of interest in the case. The next day, my partner and I interviewed the suspect, and he gave us a full confession that he committed the home invasion we had been investigating. We arrested him on the spot and home invasion charges were approved shortly thereafter. Thanks for all of your help LeadsOnline!”

LeadsOnline to criminals: game on

“I’ve been a LeadsOnline user for many years now and have located a lot of reported stolen property while using this great system. In my latest adventure, I was just checking LeadsOnline on items that were reported stolen in a new case with no person of interest information. The items were two `Bolens` brand weed trimmers, one the victim actually had the serial number for. I simply entered my case number and then the brand name of `Bolens` and there it was; the top reported item was for a `Bolens` BL110 weed wacker with the same serial number reported by this victim. The date of the transaction was listed as a day prior to when the victim had listed it missing, funny that. In checking the listed item information for the guy who had sold it; he had listed an address just two houses down and across the street from this victim. The item is on a police hold and now…game on. Thanks LeadsOnline for this great tool and system.”

Suspect in rash of storage unit burglaries identified with LeadsOnline

“A set of storage units were burglarized. Seventeen tenants had their locks cut from their units and property ranging from household goods, electronics, DVD’s, cloths and family heirlooms were stolen. After identifying a potential suspect, investigators were able to locate, identify and recover over $600 of the stolen property and identify an additional suspect. The identification of the second suspect led to the discovery of additional stolen items on another online website. We were able to file cases on both suspects for Burglary of a building. Sentimental (and expensive) Rolex watch recovered

“I have nothing but good things to say regarding the LeadsOnline program. It allows investigators to get the jump on locating property from victims who have been violated, in every sense of the word. Most recently, I was investigating a burglary of a residence where jewelry, laptop computers, and various other electronic equipment was stolen. The backdoor was kicked open and the house was ransacked throughout. The victim was devastated because his Rolex watch had been listed as a piece of property that was stolen. The watch was expensive, but also had sentimental value attached. The serial number of the watch was made available, and I ran it through LeadsOnline. Within a few seconds I located the watch which had been pawned in an adjacent city. The watch was recovered and returned to the owner, who was enthusiastically happy that he was able to have his watch back. As a result, I was able to convict the suspect who committed the burglary above. This case would not have been solved if it wasn’t for the LeadsOnline program. LeadsOnline is a valuable tool for police investigators to use in the recovery of stolen property and the identification of suspects.”

Viewing associated persons on LeadsOnline gives detective both suspects and all the missing property

“Detective Miller spoke with the victim and he informed me that he believes his employee took the listed items from him while he was at a doctor’s appointment. I checked LeadsOnline for the suspect and found where he sold some of the items on the same day they went missing. I looked at the associate tab on LeadsOnline and it came up with a new person associated with the suspect. I checked her tickets in LeadsOnline and found the remaining stolen items, from the construction site, under her name. The victim was able to give me a detail description of the items that were stolen which allowed me to identify them without the serial numbers. The suspects were identified through a photo lineup. I’m obtaining arrest warrants on both suspects for breach of trust and obtaining goods by false pretenses.”

Stolen iPad recovered thanks to Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and LeadsOnline

“My agency recently got LeadsOnline, and while conducting a search, I located a possible match to a stolen iPad. I was able to verify the serial number was the same as the one stolen from my jurisdiction. I am in South Carolina, and the iPad was located at a cell phone/tablet ATM in Texas. During my investigation, I identified the suspect as a resident of where the crime occurred. Positive identification was made, and we successfully closed this case. The item was recovered and returned to the owner. Even though this wasn’t a major case, the tools and resources that LeadsOnline provided were helpful, and this item may have never been recovered without it. I have found this to be a very viable tool.”

Diamond engagement ring recovered with arrest made same day

“A $15,000, 1.5 carat, diamond engagement ring was reported stolen by one of our local Assistant Prosecutors. She said the ring was in her jewelry box, and her house was secured with the exception of having her carpets cleaned the day before. We did a little investigating, and through LeadsOnline we instantly discovered where one of the people who cleaned her carpets pawned a 1.5 carat diamond engagement ring a few hours after cleaning her carpets. We responded to the business where the victim positively identified the ring. We were able to recover the ring and make an arrest the same day.”

Recovered four stolen items in one week

“I just got another hit on an item from LeadsOnline. I checked into the additional item and discovered that a Compaq computer was stolen from Radio Shack a few weeks ago at our local mall. I pulled the initial report from my department and verified the information that LeadsOnline was showing to be correct. I proceeded to a local pawn shop where the item was pawned and recovered the computer. I was able to obtain the information for the suspect who pawned the computer. Wanted to update ya, that’s four items in a week that I have found stolen property through LeadsOnline.”

Camera stolen by employee at camera shop

“I recently received a possible hit on three items through LeadsOnline for stolen property. I confirmed that the property was stolen through NCIC and pulled the initial reports from my agency. Once I verified that all of the information from LeadsOnline was correct, I contacted the pawn shop where the items were pawned and recovered two of the three items that were stolen. The third item had already been sold by the pawn shop, but hopefully we will recover it. The first item was a Sony Playstation 3 and warrants will be signed on the suspect for that incident. The second item that was recovered is a Nikon D90 digital camera recovered on worth $1,049.99. The item was recovered and when I contacted the camera store that the item belonged to, the employee who answered the phone admitted to the crime. She was arrested for Grand Larceny and was immediately fired by her employer.”

One hit leads detectives to uncover thousands in stolen constructions equipment

“While conducting my daily check on LeadsOnline, I came across a stolen gas powered air compressor valued at $1200. The compressor was stolen from a construction site just hours before being pawned by the suspect. I contacted the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office and advised them of the item being recovered. I was later contacted by a Deputy who advised that this case and the suspect interview led to several more construction site thefts being solved and the recovery of thousands of dollars in stolen generators, compressors and tools. The suspect was arrested and confessed to all counts charged.”

Troublesome neighbors to blame for missing tools

“LeadsOnline helped me solve another case. I was recently assigned a burglary with little to go on except a whole list of tools (nothing out of the ordinary and of course no serial numbers). After speaking with the victim, I learned of some troublesome neighbors. A search on LeadsOnline for the neighbor’s name produced a pawn ticket with most of the tools (only vaguely described). I met with the victim at the pawn shop, and he was able to identify the tools as his own. Like most tool owners, the victim knew all of the working and non-workings of his tools. The victim was able to describe something specific about each tool that eliminated any doubt they were his. Thanks again LeadsOnline, I can now obtain a warrant and investigate further knowing I’m on the right track.”

Hospital laptops containing confidential information stolen; LeadsOnline closes the case in 20 minutes

“A tough case made easy. I was recently assigned a grand larceny case from a hospital where multiple laptops were stolen. The laptops contained medical records along with personal information for hundreds of patients. I had no set suspects, only a list of personnel who had access to the area during the time the laptops were stolen. A quick search in LeadsOnline produced a substantial lead. One of the names provided had sold one of the laptops. After a quick follow up with the suspect, the case was solved, and the laptops were recovered. I had maybe 20 minutes of time tied up in this investigation thanks to LeadsOnline.”

Police use LeadsOnline to locate suspect in $166,000 theft from coin shop

“I received a complaint from the owner of a local coin shop in reference to jewelry stolen from the business. According to management, a recent inventory was conducted, resulting in locating over $166,000 worth of jewelry missing. During the investigation it was determined that a prior employee was a person of interest. I learned that over the past few months the former employee had been frequenting the store. On each visit, she would ask to use the upstairs restroom where the jewelry was stored. At this point, the first investigative tool used was LeadsOnline. The LeadsOnline search resulted in locating over $10,000 worth of stolen jewelry. The stolen jewelry was then recovered and returned to the business. Based on the LeadsOnline search, a warrant was issued for the suspect.”

Evidence, arrest, confession. LeadsOnline makes it easy.

“An investigation into the theft of a $10,000 bracelet led to the possible identity of a suspect. A search using this extraordinary database revealed that the suspect pawned the stolen bracelet two days after the theft. I was able to recover surveillance of the transaction, but was not able to recover the bracelet because it had already been scrapped by the store. With this timely information provided by LeadsOnline, I was able to arrest the suspect and obtain a confession. We are currently working with other agencies in an effort to identify his involvement with other thefts. Thanks again for creating such a useful database.”

Crimes with no leads solved on first day using LeadsOnline

“On the very first day of activation, our investigators were able to solve a burglary that was 10 months old with no leads by finding stolen property that had been pawned. The suspect was also arrested for other crimes that he admitted to under interrogation. We were also able to solve a year-old theft by locating a stolen camcorder that had been pawned, as well as computer equipment stolen by a company employee and kept in pawn for several months. One-of-a-kind diamond ring returned to rightful owner

“In July 2003, I received a case file where an elderly lady hired a caretaker to help her around her apartment because of an illness she had. Items started coming up missing, including a one-of-a-kind custom made diamond ring given to her by her deceased husband. The suspect of course denied she ever stole anything from the lady. I ran her name and her daughter’s name through LeadsOnline and discovered numerous pawns at 2 pawn shop locations by both the suspect and her daughter. I found the stolen ring at one of the pawn shops, and the manager not only had the signed pawn ticket by the suspect, he was able to identify the suspect as the person who pawned the ring. The suspect had been stealing from her elderly clients and pawning the stolen jewelry. I reported her to the state licensing department and had her license revoked. The suspect was also charged with a Felony for stealing. The victim was so happy to be able to get her late husband’s keepsake back.”

Step-daughter caught after stealing $60,000 in property

“I received a case with very little follow up info except for a camera make and serial number. I ran the serial number through LeadsOnline and found the name of a possible suspect. The last name was different than the victim’s so I had no problem asking him if he knew who this woman was. He went silent for a while and said, `That explains it….` His step-daughter had been cleaning him out and pawning items. We figured out through LeadsOnline that she had been at it for over two years and had pawned a retail value of about $60,000 worth of his stuff. Step-dad and mom went forward with prosecution and the suspect plead guilty to the felony. We got his camera and some tools back. The other stuff was long gone but she was ordered to pay $14,270 in restitution.”

LeadsOnline helps recover stolen camera taken by victim’s brother

“A victim called the Bolingbrook Police Department to report her missing digital camera. It went missing from her home, where only family members and one family friend had access. The victim contacted Jennifer from LeadsOnline, in hopes to recover her own camera. Jennifer contacted me and got the ball rolling for the victim. The victim gave me the serial number and the name of the family friend who had a shady past. I located the camera in Summit Argo, Illinois, but it was sold by the victim’s brother, not the family friend. The victim was able to recover her stolen camera, but she didn’t want to press any criminal charges.”

LeadsOnline identifies career criminal responsible for multiple home burglaries

“I was working an investigation were multiple homes had been broken into in one general area. With no leads at the time, one of the homes that was broken into had a camera so we were able to get a video of the suspects. Pictures were shown to multiple department with no luck getting the suspects identified. I responded to another burglary in the same area where all the others had occurred. The victim was able to provide a good serial number on the stolen items. Once this detective was back into the office, I ran the serial number in LeadsOnline and got a hit. I took that information and linked the suspect to multiple burglaries in our county. We were able to locate the suspect and interview him and his daughter on all the burglaries. With the information received from LeadsOnline, I was able to get a confession and solve the cases. The suspect was found to be a serial burglar and had done this for many years. LeadsOnline can be instrumental in providing evidence

“During a knock-and-talk with a suspect, my partner and I noticed a camper on the adjacent property. The door of the camper appeared to be slightly ajar, so we went to investigate and found the door was pried open. We found muddy boot prints inside. The suspect we interviewed became increasingly nervous but with little to no proof he committed the crime, the chances of making an arrest that day were slim. We also found the residence on the same property was broken into and several tools were taken. We made contact with the victim and got a working list of the items that were taken. We took pics of the boots the suspect had in his residence and several photos of the items around his property in hopes of catching him with the pry bar. After we left, I checked LeadsOnline hoping the guy sold some items, but I came up with nothing. The next Monday, I was using LeadsOnline and to my excitement, I located the transaction ticket from Saturday where our suspect must have gotten spooked and sold the stolen tools to a local shop. LeadsOnline was instrumental in the capture of this suspect and based on the facts of the case we would have had a very hard time proving the crime, and less of a chance to recover our victim’s items.”

Suspect gets away, but not for long

“Last week, there was an interrupted residential burglary. A Patrol Officer spotted the suspect’s car and the chase was on. The suspect got away, but I was able to identify him. New detective instantly successful solving crimes using LeadsOnline

“I was working with a detective who is new to our unit in investigating a case. I showed him how to use LeadsOnline as a tool to locate stolen items. He had a case where items totaling $4,000 were taken from a residence, and another case in which $2,500 worth of items were taken. I had the victim tell me the names of everyone that had lived at his residence. I checked all subjects with LeadsOnline, and found that a female subject currently living with the victim had pawned the items on the dates in question. I also found that the female suspect had pawned several other items of the victim’s that he did not know about. The victim was able to recover tools, electronic items, and several valuable rings. Victim’s watch stolen from athletic club and recovered with LeadsOnline

“I recently investigated a larceny in a building case where a Raymond Weil watch was reported stolen out of a local athletic club. The victim was unable to provide a serial number for the watch. I located a similar watch on LeadsOnline that was sold approximately four hours after the watch was reported stolen. The watch was sold to a shop in close proximity to my jurisdiction. The subject who sold the watch had a membership at the athletic club in question, and after further investigation, I proved the subject who sold the watch was my suspect. According to my suspect, he found the watch outside. Although I was not able to prosecute, I did locate my victim’s watch and got it back for him. The watch was a gift from his wife and meant a lot to him. The suspect ended up reimbursing the victim for money spent buying his watch back.
